Did Matthew McConaughey Use A Civil War Accent While Presenting At The Golden Globe Awards?

On Sunday night at the Golden Globes, Matthew McConaughey showed up rocking some pretty incredible facial hair.

Later in the show, he presented Best Actress in a Drama, though it wasn’t in his all too familiar, “alight, alright, alright” Rust Cohle/Texas draw. He delivered it quite awkwardly, leading the Internet to speculate that he was perhaps channeling the Confederate civil war solider he’s playing in The Free State of Jones, a movie he’s currently filming. What do you think? Lincoln commercial McConaughey he this is not.
