New Trailer For ‘Alien: Covenant’ Gives You First Full Look At A Giant And Ferocious Xenomorph In Action

Tuesday night was a tremendous evening for movie trailers because not only did we get the final trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but we also were gifted Alien: Covenant. In the second full trailer for Alien: Covenant (See the first trailer here) we get to see a massive, bloodthirsty xenomorph trying to eat Danny McBride for dinner. And judging by all of the spittle dripping from it’s mouth, it really, really can not wait to devour him.

The film takes place after Prometheus, but before the original Alien that was released in 1979. The latest chapter of the Alien saga looks like it will continue to explore the theme of science vs. religion as was seen in Prometheus.

From ScreenRant:

That Covenant will be exploring themes of religious beliefs and faith has been clear for some time, going back to when the movie was originally titled Alien: Paradise Lost (as a reference to John Milton’s Biblical poem, Paradise Lost). The trailer marketing for Covenant has continued to hit upon similar ideas, with the most recent theatrical trailer even including an ominous tagline for the spaceship Covenant crew’s arrival on a seemingly paradise-like planet in the movie – namely, “The path to paradise begins in hell.”

Alien: Covenant is directed by Ridley Scott, who was also a producer for Prometheus.

The cast includes Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, James Franco James Franco, Danny McBride, Billy Crudup, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, and Amy Seimetz.

Alien: Covenant whips into theaters on May 19, 2017.
