Sophie Turner Dropped A ‘Game Of Thrones’ Spoiler About Sansa That’ll Leave Many Fans Disappointed

This post is dark and full of disappointing spoilers, so read at your own discretion.

Has anyone else noticed that Sansa Stark’s storyline in Game of Thrones has kind of lost any importance to it whatsoever? Yes she’s technically the “key” to the north via marriage, but did Ramsay Bolton really need to marry her? The Boltons already hold the north and they’re currently hated by everyone for betraying the Starks during the Red Wedding. Marrying Sansa off to Ramsay didn’t change any of that, and while I suppose it technically made Ramsay’s claim to Winterfell “legitimate” everyone knows that Sansa is being kept there against her will and the whole thing is a load of bullshit. If anything it just pissed off the people of the north even more than they already were.

But that’s the outlook to have if you don’t mind Sansa. If you hate her with a burning passion of 1,000 suns, you’re happy she got married to Ramsay because she’s a lame duck who needs to learn to either fight back or just die already. So what’s it going to be this season: more of Sansa sitting around crying, or is she finally going to die?

However it was during a chat with E! host Giuliana Rancic that she decided to get something extra to smile about, as she said her character Sansa Stark will NOT be killed off in the forthcoming series of the hit HBO show.

She said: ‘Flicking through I’m like, death, death, death… I’m alright this season.’(via)

That’s right: Sansa lives through the season. At this rate she better FINALLY be turning into the mini Littlefinger we hoped she’d become this past season, because I don’t think any of us can take yet another 10 episodes of Sansa crying in a fetal position:

She had previously given her fans hope when she explained she would be ‘coming into her own’ in the sixth season of the smash hit show.

Sophie said: ‘I mean this season is a really, really big one for Sansa. It’s probably her best season yet.

It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.’(via)

Considering every Sansa season has been pretty shitty so far, I’m not going to be getting my hopes up for this one…but who knows? Maybe she’ll be the one to kill Ramsay, or put Theon out of his misery. And if not, then at least we might see one of these five book plots finally make an appearance in the show:

And if not…christ, season 5 left off with Sansa and Theon running away together – what a way to start season 6: the lamest duck in all of Westeros and fucking Reek. Ugh.
