The Rock Shared His ‘Six Philosophies For Greatness’ And They’re Inspiring As Hell

The other day Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was named the highest paid actor in the world by Forbes.

As a part of their profile on him they had him do a set of six Instagram posts where he shared his “Six Philosophies For Greatness.”

He started out with “The Power Of Choice.”

Today we’re doing something special. I’m taking you on a #ChaseYourGreatness journey. I’ll bring you along for the ride throughout my day and share insights I’ve learned in building my career and @SevenBucksProd, in the hopes that these tenants help you tackle your own goals. But first, you must choose to wake up and dominate your day. Let’s start with #ThePowerofChoice.

Then he covered “The Power Of Vision.”

5 years ago I wanted to connect with fans globally in a more powerful and authentic way that was beyond traditional media – radio and TV. Thats exactly what we’ve done through that vision and social media. Keep your vision as clear as possible as you forge ahead and remember we never want to just play in the game… we want to change the way the game is played.

Next up, “The Power Of Teamwork.”

There is no greatness achieved alone. Ever. Surround yourself with brilliant and hungry individuals who are willing to work just as hard as you to execute your vision.

Followed by “The Power Of Perseverance.”

When you #ChaseYourGreatness and finally find it – and you will. There’s one very important thing we always gotta do. Pay respect and never lose sight of where you came from. We’ve all had our low moments, and I think we’d all agree we never want to go back there, but we gotta use our hard times of our past to motivate our future. Approximately 4 weeks after this picture was taken of me in the 1995 training camp for the CFL’s Calgary Stampeders, I was cut from the team and sent home with $7 bucks in my pocket. It was a monumental moment for me, because it was then that I decided I could either continue to wallow in depression or pick myself back up forge ahead.

Next it was “The Power Of Your Gut.”

I’m always asked “Who’s my most trusted advisor?” My answer – My gut. Regardless of what we do for a living, we deal with tons of “noise” every single day. The key is to do our best to block out the noise and listen to our gut when it says, “You can do better.” Not always the easiest thing to do when the “noise” is constant, but it always leads to some kind of success. Always.

And finally, “The Power Of Impact.”

The idea that regardless of what we do for a living, what color we are or where we live in the world… the most powerful thing we can do – is be kind.

I’m a physical kind of guy who believes in taking action when you want to get things done. Like so many of us when these tragedies happen around the world and here in the US – I get angry and my heart breaks for the victims and their families. But I always do my best to check my emotions and remember that one of the biggest impacts I/WE can have on this world is kindness. Let’s all take action to be better and never forget the #PowerOfImpact.

Now that you know how to live your live The Rock’s way, here’s how to get as swole as he is too…
