These Are The Three Things That Are Absolutely Banned From Appearing In A Disney Movie

Disney has had some rather harrowing scenes in some of their animated movies. Dumbo getting drunk and having freaky hallucinations. Bambi’s mom taking a bullet. Nemo’s mom getting devoured. Mufasa taking the dirt nap. So they’re certainly not above potentially causing some trauma in their young audience.

However, even with those moments in Disney movies there are some things that you will never see in one of their films. At least not anymore.

According to Pete’s Dragon director David Lowery there are three things which are absolutely forbidden. So much so that they even put them into a contract.

Speaking to Ain’t It Cool News, Lowery shared this story…

…you can’t have smoking anymore! The scene in that movie that had the biggest impact to me was Pinocchio smoking a cigar and turning red. When you sign a contract with Disney, the things it says your film cannot have are beheadings, impalement or smoking. Those are literally the three things you are not allowed to put into a Disney film.

Apparently being impaled was okay when it came to Ursula the Sea Witch in 1989’s The Little Mermaid, but not anymore.

Also, Captain Hook and Cruella DeVille are going to be very disappointed with the no smoking policy.

As for the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland? As usual, she DGAF…
