Why The Best Sex You’ll Ever Have Is Angry Breakup Sex, As Explained By Comedian Marc Maron

If you’ve watched Marc Maron’s IFC show, Maron, you know that a lot of his comedy is based on his own self-loathing and his own vitriolic relationships. He explores relationships quite a lot in his stand-up comedy, too — His tumultuous on-again, off-again relationship with his girlfriend “Jen”, as played by Nora Zehetner, is central to the show’s first season.

Maron knows how to use truisms to get laughs as a comedian. In December, EPIX will air his first premium TV stand up special in 20 years, Marc Maron: More Later, on December 4 at 10 PM ET. EPIX gave us a little nibble from the show at the Vic Theater in Chicago. It’s classic Marc Maron, with the comedian waxing about how the best sex you’ll ever have in a relationship is angry, “we-hate-each-other!” break-up sex when hormones are raging.
