Daveed Diggs has been having one hell of a year. The rapper/thespian plays Thomas Jefferson and Marquis de Lafayette in the Broadway hit Hamilton, and he’s been nominated for a Tony Award. He’s making the late night TV rounds as Hamilton continues to absolutely demolish box office records, and on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon he’s just announced to the world that he’s one of the fastest rappers around by putting his skills on display.
I’ll admit that I didn’t really know shit about Daveed Diggs when I started writing up this video, so I hopped on his Wikipedia page and I’m pretty floored by how successful this dude’s been. A graduate of Brown University, he set the school record for the 110-meter hurdles as a sophomore by running and jumping his way across the track in a blistering 14.21 seconds. The dude’s fast, he already holds the record as the ‘fastest rapper on Broadway’, which apparently is a real record. His improv rap group clipping self-released their first album back in 2013 and were immediately signed by Sub Pop. This dude’s just ridiculously talented and success seems to follow him wherever he goes.
