About damn time Jay Electronica gets his ass in gear and starts releasing music. Finally the Roc Nation signee drops some new music, this time being a remix of Soulja Boy’s ‘We Made It’ with Jay-Z. Gotta love that they threw in some Kenny Powers “fixxxxxxins“ wisdom into the mix.
Also, if you listen to Jay’s lyrics, you’ll note that he’s responding to Drake’s comments in a recent Rolling Stone interview. Drake called Jay-Z out, saying “It’s like Hov can’t drop bars these days without at least four art references! I would love to collect at some point, but I think the whole rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny.”
Jay’s answer comes out in the “We Made It” remix: “Sorry Mr. Drizzy for so much art talk / Silly me, rapping about shit that I really bought / While these rappers rap about guns, they ain’t shot / And a bunch of other silly shit they ain’t got.”
