Green Day, Nine Inch Nails, and The Smiths Have All Been Nominated To The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame

Cleveland has released their Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2015 nominations, included in those nominations are Green Day, The Smiths, Nine Inch Nails, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bill Withers.

In their first year’s of eligibility both Green Day and NIN received HoF nominations from the venerable Cleveland institution, and fans are invited to vote for the nominees HERE.

WSJ Speakeasy:

Green Day and Nine Inch Nails have been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their first year of eligibility, 25 years after their debut releases. Other first-time nominees for inclusion in the Cleveland pantheon include the Smiths, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Bill Withers.

The other nominees for the class of 2015 are the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Chic, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, Kraftwerk, the Marvelettes, N.W.A., Lou Reed, the Spinners, Sting and War.

Of course, Lou Reed and Sting are already members of the club, having been inducted with the Velvet Underground (1996) and the Police (2003), respectively.

After they’re done complaining online about who was snubbed or which nominees aren’t worthy, music fans are invited to cast their votes, and that fans’ ballot will be part of the final tally. Inductees will be announced on April 18, 2015.

So, get your asses over there and VOTE. But not until you’ve soaked up these Green Day and NIN legendary songs:
