Have to show some love where it’s due. You’ve probably never heard of Los Angeles via Philly band Mt. Joy, but they’re starting to explode on Spotify thanks to the folksy, heart-felt anthem “Astrovan.” It’s the only song they’ve yet to release off their forthcoming four-track EP, but it’s managed to chart on Spotify with over 230,000 streams in 10 days, earning a #9 spot on the the US Viral Spotify charts and #21 on the Global Viral Spotify charts. That’s an accomplishment that’s damn near impossible for a band you’ve never heard of.
Anyway, “Astrovan” is a soulful acoustic jam about Jesus driving an Astrovan. I’d like to think it captures the joy and melancholy of fall pretty perfectly.
