For weeks, pictures have been circulating of a collaboration between HBO’s Game of Thrones and adidas running. The shoes pay homage to the key players still in the ‘game’ as we enter season 8 and the eventual series finale. Details were scant but we now know which shoes are legit and when they are dropping.
Season 8 will premiere on April 14th but fans won’t have to wait very long for these shoes. They’ll be released in limited quantities on addias.com, select retailers including Dick’s Sporting Goods, and the Adidas App beginning on March 22nd. The UltraBOOST shoes will retail for $180/pair.
This collaboration features six unique pairs of shoes. Each one will have details specific to the house or characters they resemble. The various sigils will be featured on the shoe’s tongue and mottos will be found on the heel tag. Each shoe has corresponding colors and patterns to the house they represent.

The houses and characters represented in this season 8 collaboration include the House Targaryen, House Stark, House Lannister, the Night’s Watch, and the White Walkers. House Targaryen actually gets two pairs in this collaboration…SPOILER ALERT…because of Daenerys and Jon.

I’m torn between which is my favorite but I’m gravitating towards the Nights Watch, Stark, and Lannister colorways over the others. What about you gentlemen?

When asked about this collaboration, General Manager of adidas Running Alberto Uncini Manganelli had this to say:
“Collaborations with franchises like Game of Thrones are part of our DNA. When brands and television series alike are able to move beyond their primary platform and spill into popular culture, we see inspiration. The project is yet another example of our open source strategy by which we treat our most iconic silhouettes as a canvas upon which we can tell a story.”
The shoes were announced this week via press release and they’re not just flashy sneakers to represent the most successful Fantasy TV show in history, they pack all of the high-performance features found in every pair of Adidas UltraBoost running shoes like the lightweight PrimeKnit upper and heel counter for adaptability.
As I mentioned above, these shoes will be available beginning March 22nd for $180 so mark your calendars because these colorways are limited-edition and will be sold out fast.
