Jalen Hurts is heading back to the Super Bowl, squaring off against the Chiefs in a rematch that feels less like unfinished business and more like a to-do list item he’s about to cross off with permanent marker.

Hurts has been a difference maker on the field on South Broad Street. He’s also a being a difference maker in the community. He’s showing that you can be a difference-maker with style and grace, too.

The Jalen Hurts “Carry The Difference” duffle bag

Back in December 2024, Hurts announced that he’s teamed up with Discommon Goods for the limited edition “Carry The Difference” duffle bag. Hurts’ collab with Discommon, a design firm that specializes in creating things you didn’t know you needed until you realized your current stuff looks like it was designed by people who think “good enough” is a compliment.

The bag is a handsome, caramel-colored statement piece that projects you’re the kind of person who navigates an airport terminal with style, handles business with ease, and can call an audible without missing a beat.

It’s made from custom microfiber leather, features an “impact-absorbing laptop slip pocket” and premium YKK zippers with custom pulls (serious menswear enthusiasts know that non-YKK zippers are for amateurs). It also includes Jalen’s signature “Breed of 1” stitching in his own handwriting. Dude is effortlessly cool that that.

Inside, there’s a patch that reads “You Either Win or You Learn.” It’s one heck of a good motto, and feels like the kind of thing that could either inspire you to conquer your day or remind you that, yes, you did in fact lose that fantasy football league because you drafted Christian McCaffrey and three kickers (clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose… next year). Perspective.

All I’m saying is this: It’s a damn handsome bag. And proceeds from it, benefit a great cause, which I’ll get to below.

What is Discommon Goods?

Now, about Discommon, the “excessively engineered, meticulously executed” manufacturer of this bag. These are the folks who design things like carbon fiber bottle openers that could double as spacecraft components, forged aluminum wallets that make your old leather bifold look like a sad tortilla, and aviator-inspired coffee tables.

For example, right now Discommon also has a limited-edition collab with Blok Watches.  The BK38 is a 38mm dual-time GMT with Swiss movement, sapphire crystal, and smooth and satisfying bezel click. Check this beauty out:

You get the gist. They’re not in the business of making things you sort of like. They’re in the business of making things friends, coworkers, and randoms next to you in Economy Plus ask you about without you having to tell them about it.

But back to Jalen Hurts bag…

Beyond looking sharp enough to earn a seat at any airport lounge, it’s doing real work. Every dollar from its limited run (only 250 made, because exclusivity is part of the vibe) goes to support underserved Philly schools through the Jalen Hurts Foundation—stocking classrooms with supplies so kids can focus on learning, growing, and, fingers crossed, hopefully never becoming Cowboys fans.

So, if you want to carry a piece of Hurts’ ethos—or at least look like someone who’s got their life together—you can grab the bag at www.thejalenhurts.com.

Just don’t be surprised if people ask you about it. It’s the kind of thing that carries itself.

Now excuse me for letting my bias show, but objectivity, IMO, is completely overrated and if you’ve been reading this website long enough, you know what I’m about to say… ahem!
