On Monday of this past week, I played hooky from work and went fly fishing for the first time in years. I was in California’s Eastern Sierras and hit up the Upper Owens river with a guide on a beautiful morning in the mountains. Even though the trout were being persnickety about what we threw at them, it felt awesome to get out with a fly rod in my hands (proof on Instagram).
