I’ve perhaps never been more qualified for anything in my entire life than the piece that follows. More than two decades of experience have prepared me for this exact moment: reviewing the Dome Shaver™ Pro from Manscaped.
THE MANSCAPED DOME SHAVER™ PRO
It was August 2002 when I decided to go for it and shave my head. In actuality, it was my dear friend Chris who sat me down on a chair on his parents’ deck and took clippers to my fading hairline.
In the years since, I have tried every gizmo and gadget out there, along with an assortment of straight razors, double blades, triples, and even quadruples. So, when BroBible reached out with an offer to test out the latest creation from Manscaped, The Dome Shaver™ Pro, I jumped at the opportunity. After all, I was going to shave my head anyway.
First impressions…
Opening up the slick packaging, I’m greeted with golden emblazoned copy like “Keep your smooth,” and “Grab life by the bald,” slogans that are definitely simpatico with Manscaped’s place as a leader in the intimate grooming space.
I don’t have much time or interest in extracurricular hygiene, honestly. I go au naturale down south. However, when it comes to the dome region, I require the best in class, so I unzip the slick, padded travel case, and charge up The Dome Shaver™ Pro via USB, which comes included in the kit.
The Shave
While Manscaped excels with its suave and elegant presentation, it’s not just style. The Dome Shaver™ Pro has plenty of substance to compete in the head shaving space, especially for those who like to regularly take all the way down to the skin.
After charging, it’s as easy as popping on the removable blades, hitting the power button, and shaving in the same manner as a classic electric razor: consistent circular motions get the job done quickly.
Even better, The Dome Shaver™ Pro is a major time and effort saver on cleanup.

What mess?
I usually shave my head in the gym locker room to avoid any need for cleanup, while also helping to avoid any domestic spats that arise from the leftover hairs that line the sink and drain (you know what I’m saying, fellas). For this assignment, however, I’m required to take pics, and there’s no filming in the gym locker room: EVER! With that in mind, I conducted this initial test at home where I was pleasantly surprised with the minimal mess and ease of cleanup.
In addition to helping us follically challenged gents reach our shorn potential, The Dome Shaver™ Pro may even potentially save a relationship or two with its waterproof hair chamber, that effectively traps more than 97 percent of all clippings. Seriously, your significant other will never know you shaved in the master bath.

Top-to-tail, the whole operation takes about five minutes and is best capped off with a light slather of the Manscaped Dome Soother Head Aftershave Lotion.
A skin-tight shave!
On a practical level, The Dome Shaver™ Pro is a one-size-fits-all shave, straight down to the skin. There is no nuance or negotiating length, so keep that in mind.
Having taken a blade to the dome on countless occasions, I must admit that I generally prefer to keep a little moss around the sides. I’m not talking skirted egg here, but a little fuzz that goes with my burly hesher, heavy metal vibe. Something for my lady to hold on to, keeping a bit of that sensation of running fingers through my hair. This is not an option with The Dome Shaver™ Pro, but given its speed and ease, I might need to reconsider a new hairstyle in the future.
One thing that is non-negotiable, however, is my facial hair.
My beard line limits
Regularly wearing a light-to-medium beard, or mustache with pronounced sideburns, the hairline that begins at the ear and moves forward down my cheek is an important, but not essential, part of my signature look. It’s this specific region that challenges The Dome Shaver™ Pro’s functionality.
Due to its circular blades, a straight line is tough to manage. For this one small region, I bust out the razor to keep it nice and neat. The Dome Shaver™ Pro can handle the rest though, even the few lighter hairs atop my shiny pate. The ones often missed by the clippers. And who knows, maybe Manscaped even has another product that can handle the beard lineup.
New perspective:
After just one use, The Dome Shaver™ Pro is giving me a lot to consider. Is this my new routine? Am I a shave-it-down-to-the-skin guy now? I’m not ready to commit to just one look from here on out, but at the very least this new product from Manscaped is a solid travel companion and a great addition to my overall beauty regimen, especially in the hotter summer months.
