Hope everyone had a great week. Football season is over; let the off-season begin.
Speaking of the off-season, there is some massive news hitting the collector world: The Jim Irsay Collection is officially being broken up and sold at Christie’s in New York, starting March 3rd. Irsay was the league’s resident gypsy billionaire, a man who bought Jack Kerouac’s scroll and Jerry Garcia’s guitar just to set them free. I had the privilege of interviewing him back in 2022, and he told me something that has stuck with me ever since: “I’ve never seen a hearse pull a U-Haul.” In light of the auction, I just published a new essay on my Substack titled We Borrow Everything. It explores the tragic Tao of Jim Irsay and that conversation we shared. It’s a piece I’m incredibly proud of, and I’d really encourage you to give it a read to understand the man behind the artifacts.
Before we get to Things We Want, some updates:
Last Friday started with a text that every guy wants to receive: “Hey, you want to head out on the boat tomorrow?” A new buddy of mine invited me out with the goal of pulling some traps for California spiny lobsters. I was already picturing the lobster rolls, so I added my lobster report card to my California fishing license and bought some beer. But Mother Nature had other plans. We hit the open water and were immediately greeted by 8-foot swells, which quickly started feeling like 10-foot walls of salt water. It was gnarly. After realizing we weren’t going to get anywhere near the traps without a Coast Guard rescue mission, we called an audible. We cruised back into the safety of the marina, docked it, and spent the rest of the afternoon crushing Salt Crew Blonde Ales. Honestly… it was still a 10/10 boat day. There’s something about the hum of a marina and a cold beer that just resets the soul.

Sunday was the Main Event: Super Bowl Sunday. While the game was a heater, the real MVP in my house was the smoker. I did a massive spread of wings, and I have to confess something—I am a die-hard Frank’s RedHot purist. I usually don’t deviate. But I picked up Kinder’s new Buttery Buffalo sauce at Costco, and guys… it is levels up. It’s got that classic tang but it’s so much more savory and rich. My mind is blown. We also had some wings tossed in Kinder’s Black Cherry Chipotle, and a buddy brought over some smoked Chimichurri wings that were out of this world. We paired those with some heavy-hitting IPAs and the leftovers of the Salt Crew from the boat. It was the kind of weekend that makes you realize why we work so hard during the week.

’m also deep in the lab planning my bachelor party for late April. I’m currently torn between two epic options: a relatively simple spring yellowtail fishing outing over to Catalina, or a Lake Havasu to Pirate’s Cove Sea-Doo trip on the Colorado River with the boys. Honestly, I’m heavily leaning towards the Havasu trip. As much as I love fishing, ripping jet skis down the Colorado River just sounds so damn sick, and I really want to do it. I’m feeling incredibly called to the water right now, and those immaculate early summer river vibes seem like exactly what the doctor ordered for a final send-off.
Speaking of being called to the water, I have a confession: I cannot stop looking at boats on Facebook Marketplace in Marina del Rey. It’s becoming a genuine problem. I’m specifically obsessed with these old liveaboards. The dream is to buy one, park it in the slip, and use it as both my office and studio. Imagine writing and working from the marina every day. But here’s the catch… I know myself. I know I’ll get an itch to take the thing out fishing, and those big, clunky liveaboards aren’t exactly conducive to chasing yellowtail or battling 8-foot swells. The internal struggle between “floating office” and “fishing vessel” is real right now.
My condolences to everyone who tried to get the Chase Sapphire Reserve World Cup tickets this past week. I feel your pain. I’m hoping to make it to at least one of the LA games, but I’m not so sure the stars are going to align on that one. Understandable… it’s a tough ticket.
I also want to pour one out this week for my beloved M1 MacBook. RIP, 2021-2026. This was a personal record for the longest I’ve ever kept a machine alive, but sadly, the flashing pink screen grim reaper comes for us all. I’m upgrading to an M5, and honestly, it’s going to be so weird having a keyboard with all the actual letters still printed on it. Sometimes I really hate having to buy things I need instead of things I want—especially a work computer—but I’m hoping this new machine unlocks as many opportunities and as many dreams as the last one. I had a massive goal of writing a book on that old M1, and I actually did it (literary agents, get at me: brandon@brobible.com). So here’s hoping the M5 is the machine I finally publish said book with.
On top of all that, it’s NBA All-Star weekend here in LA, and I’ve got a buddy from high school in town who works in sports, so we’re hitting some parties. For example, we’re heading to the VRST party (Dick’s Sporting Goods’ men’s apparel brand). I’m actually a massive fan of their clothes—they’re super high-quality, affordable, and incredibly comfy for an active lifestyle. I have a shirt of theirs that I wear constantly. They’re hosting a panel with some Lakers legends at the event, so it should be an epic time.
I’m interviewing one of my all-time favorite guitarists and musicians next week, the great Warren Haynes. Next Friday, I’m heading out to the Genesis Invitational. As a guy who spent his high school and college summers working in country club kitchens just to get those “free play” Mondays, being at a tournament like the Genesis is always a full-circle moment. I’ll probably be rocking some of that new Sun Day Red gear to at least look like I belong on the right side of the ropes.
OK, that was a lot. I’m throwing on some of my favorite Bob Marley album, Survivor, in honor of his 80th birthday. Check out the special adidas x Bob Marley Gazelle Jamaicas at the bottom of this post.
And, as always, thanks for reading BroBible.
Here is the gear we’re digging this week.
1. The Course Fit: Sun Day Red “First Light” Collection

As I mentioned, I’m heading out to the Genesis Invitational next week, and Tiger Woods’ brand Sun Day Red just dropped their “First Light” Collection with absolutely perfect timing. Inspired by the California landscape—specifically those deep Pacific blues and golden hills—this gear is built for the pursuit. I’m far from a scratch golfer, but throwing on the Elite Polo makes you feel like you belong on the right side of the ropes. It draws direct inspiration from a kit Tiger made famous back in 1996, complete with a structured “Heritage” collar that won’t flop around on you mid-round, and genuine pearl buttons. It’s an absolute beauty of a golf shirt.

2. The Ultimate Pilgrimage: Flex Motor’s Japan Land Cruiser Delivery Experience

via Flex Motors
I’ve been heavily eyeballing Land Cruisers lately—like, I really, really want a new one and I’m constantly refreshing listings. I just read about this on Gear Patrol and it sounds like the absolute ultimate way to pull the trigger. Flex Motor has created the “Japan Delivery Experience” for Land Cruiser enthusiasts. Basically, instead of waiting months for your JDM import like a Prado to arrive on a boat, you fly to Japan and drive your newly purchased rig through its home turf before it gets exported. You pick it up in Tokyo, drive to the Toyota museum in Nagoya, and end up overlanding in Hokkaido. Flex is famous for their “Renoca” builds (giving a modern 80 Series the beautiful retro face of a 60 Series). If you’re going to buy a vintage Land Cruiser, this is the dream way to do it.

3. The Road Warrior: Leisure Travel Vans Unity TB4X

via Leisure Travel Vans
If you’ve ever tried to pack for a weekend trip and had to make the devastating choice of leaving a surfboard or mountain bike behind, this new AWD camper from Leisure Travel Vans is the answer to your prayers. The Unity TB4X is a Class C motorhome built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, but the real standout feature here is the massive 1,727-liter pass-through gear garage in the back. It’s specifically designed for “toy” enthusiasts. They even integrated 12V and 120V outlets inside the garage so your e-bikes and gear stay charged while you’re cruising down the highway.

4. Future Tech: Nike’s Project Amplify Bionic Sneakers

via Nike
I didn’t realize I needed an e-bike for my feet until I heard this story on NPR. Nike is working on a revolutionary footwear system called Project Amplify, and it looks like something straight out of RoboCop. These bionic sneakers use 3D-printed titanium leg shells with internal motors and sensors that literally learn your gait. When you walk or run, they provide a natural, powered boost to propel you forward. It’s aimed at solving “personal range anxiety” and giving everyday people the energy to go further. Commercial release is set for 2028, and I am completely obsessed with the idea.

5. Dirty Grooves: The Swamp Fox Meets the Desert Disco

via Flying Mojito Bros
I’ve been on a major Tony Joe White kick lately. His version of “Aspen, Colorado” is one of the most quietly beautiful songs ever written, but I also love his swamp rock side… those dirty, filthy grooves that just make you want to move. Well, the Flying Mojito Bros (a pair of “desert disco” DJs) just partnered with his estate for a remix album called The Swamp Fox. The lead single, “Alligator Stomp,” is a masterclass in “swamp-disco,” blending White’s gritty guitar with a pulsing dancefloor beat. It feels like taking the bayou straight to Ibiza.

6. The Sophisticated Valentine’s Day Gift: Heywood Hill Book Subscriptions

via Heywood Hill
As someone who is aspiring to be more bookish right now, I absolutely love this concept. London’s storied Heywood Hill bookshop in Mayfair is celebrating its 90th anniversary, and they are highlighting their bespoke, hand-curated book subscriptions. Forget the algorithm—this is about human connection. You have a conversation with an experienced bookseller, and they hand-pick a book tailored specifically to your tastes and mail it to you every month. It’s an incredibly romantic, enduring Valentine’s Day gift that crosses the Atlantic and lasts all year.

7. Wrist Game & Marginal Gains: Aston Martin x Breitling

If you have any appreciation for horology and F1, this new multi-year partnership between Aston Martin and Breitling is massive. They just launched the Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43 Aston Martin Aramco, and for the first time in the Navitimer’s history, it features a lightweight titanium case. Throw in a chopped carbon fiber dial and “Aston Martin Racing Green” accents, and it’s a masterpiece.
On the flip side of their F1 prep, Aston Martin also announced they are partnering with Eight Sleep for the 2026 season. They are using AI-powered sleep pods to optimize driver recovery to find those crazy “marginal gains” in a 24-race season. Fascinating stuff.

8. Pitch Perfect: St. Louis CITY SC’s “Tina Turner Kit”

via St. Louis City / MLS
That’s a massive week for MLS kit drops. First of all, St. Louis CITY SC has unveiled a historic gold jersey honoring the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll herself. This is the first-ever Adidas collaboration with a female music artist on a soccer kit. Inspired by her electrifying stage presence, it features a liquid-gold visual effect and her signature rendered in “CITY Red” on the neck. It’s an incredible tribute to her deep roots in the city where she first found her voice.

9. Bay Area Vibes: San Jose Earthquakes “Dead Kit”

via San Jose Earthquakes / MLS
While we’re talking about incredible soccer kits, the San Jose Earthquakes have officially leaned into their Bay Area heritage with their 2026 Secondary “Dead Kit.” It’s a psychedelic tie-dye jersey that commemorates the Grateful Dead’s very first show under that name, which took place in San Jose back in 1965. The “Steal Your Face” skull on the sleeve is such a legendary detail. The intersection of sports and counterculture here is just super cool.

10. Sky High Tech: The HondaJet Elite II

via Honda Aircraft Company
via Honda Aircraft Company
I’ll never be in the private jet class as a BroBible blogger, but I love the flex of saying your PJ is a Honda in a world of Gulfstreams.
This is a very cool advancement in personal aviation, meaning that private just got a little safer. The HondaJet Elite II is now the first very light twinjet to receive FAA certification for Garmin’s Emergency Autoland (EAL) system. Basically, in the terrifying event of pilot incapacitation, you push a single button (or the plane triggers it automatically if the pilot is unresponsive). The system analyzes the weather, selects the best nearby airport, communicates with Air Traffic Control, and lands the plane autonomously. Yes, it lands itself! So cool. It’s the ultimate “safety button” in the sky.

11. One Love: Adidas x Bob Marley “Football is Freedom” Collection

via Adidas
I really did intend to do such a soccer-heavy Things We Want this week, but I’m kind of digging the theme we fell into. Feels fitting as we start to hype up the World Cup in a few months.
In honor of what would have been Bob Marley’s 80th birthday, Adidas just dropped the “Football is Freedom” collection. It’s a full-scale tribute to Marley’s lifelong passion for soccer. The standout hero piece for me is the Gazelle Indoor in “Bold Gold” with a gorgeous gold foil “Bob” script. They also have an entire capsule of retro tracksuits and jerseys that perfectly capture his 70s style.
