One of the big stories coming out of the women’s side at Wimbledon was the surprise of seeing 50th ranked Elena Vesnina make it to the singles semi-finals on Thursday.
No one could have predicted the unseeded Russian getting past 19th seed Dominika Cibulkova, but there she was today facing off against none other than Serena Williams.
Another thing about Elena Vesnina that caught a few fans attention is the fact that she once did a steamy photo shoot for Playboy.

As for the shoot the Daily Mail had this to report..
Miss Vesnina, who was 27 at the time, said in an interview inside that she decided to pose for the magazine because she ‘wanted to try it’ and because ‘it will all be shown in a very beautiful manner’.
Asked how her father Sergey, who is her coach, would react, she said: ‘He will go crazy when he sees that. But at least I told him that I’d be in Playboy. I didn’t take a risk to tell my mum anything.’

Sadly for Vesnina, as far as the match with Serena is concerned, she got walloped 6-2, 6-0 today in reportedly the fastest Wimbledon semi-final ever.
Oh well, she can also do a little more modeling should this whole tennis thing not pan out.
