Bill Plympton drew a film noir couch gag for ‘The Simpsons’

Say what you want about the creativity of The Simpsons, the couch gags have continued to be top notch. Occasionally they outsource the job, and last night’s film noir opening, drawn by Bill Plympton, was tremendous.

This is Plympton’s second time opening The Simpsons. The first gave us the torrid history of Homer and his lover…the couch. This sketch depicted the family on the verge of murdering each other, which many people would have appreciated. Too bad Maggie saved the day. That little brat better not show up in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
