‘Giant God Warrior Appears In Tokyo’ is monster-stomping fun

Legendary anime producers Studio Ghibli go live-action in this new short film. Here’s a pretty cool thing to start your Monday morning off with. Giant God Warrior Appears In Tokyo is Ghibli’s unique combination of a creature from its Nausicaa and the Valley Of The Wind and old-school Toho monster movies, using traditional effects and miniatures to create a nine-minute short film that’s pure pleasure. It’s not a trailer for anything bigger, sadly – just a fun project from one of the world’s best collections of cinematic minds. The studio is also working on a new animated flick about the man who designed Japan’s Zero fighter jets during World War II.
