UFC had no choice but to suspend Nate Diaz after he called another fighter the “biggest fag in the world” on Twitter. Diaz has since deleted the account but the damage had already been done.
The man on the receiving end of the tweet, Bryan Caraway, was given a bonus after UFC 159 when his opponent tested positive for weed. Diaz felt Caraway was out of line and let him know as much.
UFC issued a statement late last night.
“We are very disappointed by Nate Diaz’s comments, which are in no way reflective of our organization,” the UFC stated in a release. “Nate is currently suspended pending internal investigation and we will provide further comment once the matter has been decided.”
His manager tried defending him with some hogwash definition of “fag” from urban dictionary. Seriously? If I was in an argument with someone and they dropped a “but urban dictionary” comment, I would knee them in the genitalia. Those are the kind of people who shouldn’t reproduce.
Speaking of people who shouldn’t have kids—Diaz, grow up man. This is 2013 and you’re a 28-year-old professional athlete. You should know better.
