Why read a whole bunch of posts? This one has everything. A lot of news comes down the pipeline every day that’s not quite enough to merit a full post, but still worth talking about. Here’s the buzz from the world of games, TV and movies.

Michael Rooker cast in Guardians Of The Galaxy

AMC

Michael Rooker, last seen as Merle on The Walking Dead, has been cast in James Gunn’s Guardians Of The Galaxy movie as Yondu, a blue-skinned space archer. I didn’t even think that character was under consideration, because he’s really goofy looking.

Helix Teaser

Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica)’s new series debuts on SyFy this fall, and the first teaser just dropped. It’s about a group of scientists who go to the Arctic to investigate a disease outbreak and find out that things are even worse than they thought. So… The Thing, then? Could be cool.

Nintendo Announces New Zelda

Nintendo

This week’s Nintendo Direct had a bunch of pretty good stuff in it, most notably the announcement that they’re working on a new Legend Of Zelda game for the 3DS. There’s also a new Yoshi’s Island game, a new Mario Party and more.

MSN bringing back Heroes?

NBC

If you want to talk about shows that totally lost it after the first season, NBC’s Heroes is right up there. After “Save the cheerleader. Save the world,” the show diddled around getting more and more confusing until being cancelled after the fourth season. Now MSN – which is trying to do original shows for the Xbox – is in talks to bring it back. Huh.

Patton Oswalt On Star Wars

Patton Oswalt appears on Parks & Recreation this week as a crazed Star Wars fan. The director asked him to improvise a filibuster in front of the City Council, and Patton went ham on him with an eight minute rant. It won’t make the show, but you can watch the whole thing here.

Pitch Perfect 2

Universal Pictures

If watching Ryan die attempting the Cup Song hasn’t scratched your Pitch Perfect itch, Universal has announced that the sequel to the hit a capella comedy is in production with a 2015 release and Kay Cannon writing the script.

Dutch Boys – Backpacker Bush

New Eric Wareheim music video featuring a fat rapper named “Twank Star.” Do we really need to say anything else? Watch it on loop until the end of the day. Audio’s pretty much totally NSFW, so headphones up.
