Less than a week ago, a U.S. government-funded agency changed it’s stance on marijuana and stated that weed kills cancer cells and shrinks brain tumors. Now there is this story of a terminal cancer patient who claims that cannabis oil was the catalyst in his miraculous recovery.
David Hibbert is a 33-year-old father from Staffordshire, England. In July 2012, after an initial diagnosis of hemorrhoids, Hibbert was told by doctors that his pain was caused from the stage-three bowel cancer that he had.
He immediately underwent radiation therapy and chemotherapy before having his enlarged bowel removed. After enduring all of the excruciating chemo, Hibbitt was told that he was cancer-free in December 2013.
However the good news was short-lived because a month later he found a lump. The cancer had returned and become even more aggressive, spreading to the lymph nodes in his groin. By February of 2014, a much more grim diagnosis was given to Hibbitt when he was told by the doctors that he had between 18 months and five years to live.
Hibbert was exhausted by the painful chemotherapy and searched the Internet for alternatives. That’s where he found that many people suffering from cancer turned to cannabis oil to treat their disease.
Marijuana is illegal in the U.K., but fortunately for him he knew someone who made cannabis oil. At first he dismissed the idea because he had never done drugs before in his life. But he changed his mind because he was losing all hope. “I felt like the chemo was killing me and I had nothing to lose. I couldn’t accept I was going to die,” said Hibbert.
He bought his first gram in July of 2014 for $75 and gave up chemo a month later. “It gets your pretty high and knocks you for six, but it’s nowhere near as bad as chemotherapy,” Hibbert stated.
He immediately began to see results from the cannabis oil. “The pain just seemed to disappear and it seems to have done the job.”
The cancerous lymph nodes were removed in October, and Hibbitt took nothing but the cannabis oil to kill the cancer. By January, doctors found no cancer in his body and was declared cancer-free.
Hibbert is now a proponent of the medical marijuana, “I just want to make other people aware that there are other options out there.”
