New Study Lists The Most Popular Drugs At All The Major Music Festivals

Wait, people do drugs at big music festivals like Burning Man, Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo? No way!

Well, consider my bubble burst, because a study by DrugAbuse.com not only says that drugs are, in fact, used and used widely at festivals such as those as well as Coachella, Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland, and pretty much every other one you can name.

So how did DrugAbuse.com do their math when deciding which drugs were being used the most at these events?

According to Consequence of Sound

The website collated over three million Instagram postings that mentioned 15 of the biggest musical festivals, and examined how many of them also mentioned drug use. The results are broken down by substance type in the below infographic, and the results are fascinating.

Indeed they are.

Marley Fest clocking in at 82% for marijuana use? Seems low.

Almost 4% of the postings at Burning Man involved crack cocaine, but Burning Man also scored the top spot in mushrooms, mescaline, DMT AND LSD. Does anyone who attends Burning Man actually remember anything they did the next day?

And no way KISS’s Chili Cook-Off was only at 90% when it comes to the use of alcohol. That’s gotta be higher. Beer and chili, man!

Check out the rest of the stats and see there’s anything in there that surprises you.
