7 Must-Watch College Football Games On The Schedule In Week 6

There are 49 college football games on the slate in Week 6, and even though the matchups are a bit lackluster compared to what we were treated to toward the end of September, there are still plenty of intriguing showdowns to pick from.

There are dozens of games to pick from if you’re planning on spending your Saturday glued to a couch or a barstool to watch Week 6 of the college football season unfold, but if you’re looking for the ones that have the potential to provide you with the most entertainment and excitement, you’ve come to the right place.

Syracuse vs. #25 UNLV

There are four games on the schedule on Friday night, but none of them stand out more than this one.

UNLV has emerged as a fairly unexpected surprise this season, as the team got off to a 3-0 start before disaster seemingly struck when starting QB Matthew Sluka announced his decision to redshirt over an NIL dispute.

Hajj-Malik Williams was able to step up and fill that void against Fresno State while keeping the undefeated season alive and earning the Runnin’ Rebels their first-ever bearth in the Top 25.

They’re 5.5-point favorites against Syracuse, but it won’t be an easy win by any means.

#9 Missouri vs. #25 Texas A&M

This is the only game in Week 6 featuring two teams in the Top 25, and it also promises to be one of the best.

Missouri is ranked higher but heads to College Station as the underdog against a Texas A&M team that’s favored by 2.5 points.

The Aggies are hoping The 12th Man can help propel them to 5-1 in what is easily the biggest game of the season so far, while the Tigers will be doing everything in their power to silence the home crowd and keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive with a showdown with Alabama just a couple of weeks away.

#10 Michigan vs. Washington

Week 6 features a rematch of last year’s championship that also has some fairly surprising odds, as Washington is listed as a 1.5-point favorite over a Michigan team that beat them to win the title last season.

Of course, both squads look pretty different after being forced to replace their head coach, and the Wolverines still haven’t been able to adequately address a QB play issue that is the primary reason the Huskies are the favorites.

They also looked very beatable last week in a close win over Minnesota, and Washington can definitely smell blood heading into what should be a tight contest.

Navy vs. Air Force

This contest might not boast the same prestige as the Army-Navy game, but I’m not going to miss the chance to highlight a showdown between two service academies.

Navy should walk away with the win as the 10-point favorite as they look to improve to 5-0 on the season, and even though Air Force is currently sitting at 1-3, you know they’ll have plenty of motivation to spoil things for their brothers in arms.

#12 Ole Miss vs. South Carolina

Ole Miss is looking to bounce back after falling to Kentucky in the most surprising upset of Week 5, and they have the edge on paper against a South Carolina squad listed as an 8.5-underdog.

The Rebels will have a chip on their shoulder, but when you consider they were favored by close to twice as many points against a Wildcats team that beat them, they’ll need to be ready for the hostile home crowd that will greet them for this SEC showdown.

SMU vs. #22 Louisville

Louisville suffered a setback with a loss to Notre Dame last week, and they’ll hope to bounce back in what has the potential to be a fairly pivotal ACC showdown with a new addition to the conference.

SMU is listed as a 6.5-point underdog, but the Mustangs are still sitting a 4-1 against a 3-1 Cardinals team that failed what has really been its only tough test of the season so far against the Fighting Irish.

You could argue Louisville didn’t deserve to remain in the Top 25 after that defeat, and they’ll need a fairly decisive win if they want to stay there.

#8 Miami vs. Cal

This list wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the matchup that brought College GameDay to Berkley for the first time in the history of the show even after Cal shot itself in the foot with a loss to Florida State.

The fact that the Golden Bears gave the Seminoles their first win of what has been a dismal season doesn’t bode well for their chances against a Miami team that has shown The U may, in fact, be Back, but the game (will which start at 7:30 PM local time) will still be a solid way to cap off the day.
