Week 9 of the NFL season is in the books. Here are all 32 teams ranked worst to first.

The top and bottom of the NFL are really starting to separate themselves, especially the bottom. Here are all 32 teams, ranked worst to first heading into Week 10.

32. New Orleans Saints (2-7)

Last Week: 23-22 (L Vs. Panthers)
This Week: Bye

The team relieved Dennis Allen of his head coaching duties after its seventh-straight loss. They had to make a change, as this team is a joke right now. Worse, Derek Carr’s hospital pass got Chris Olave injured, and he could be out a while. And, they’re in cap hell. Maybe no team in the league has a more bleak future than the Saints.

31. New England Patriots (2-7)

Last Week: 20-17 (L @ Titans)
This Week: @ Bears

It’s always great to win. But, draft position is what’s key for this franchise going forward, and this is going to go a long way towards better draft position. Drake Maye continues to impress, and the game-tying touchdown pass was sensational. And, the team continues to play hard after it looked like that Jerod Mayo may be losing the locker room.

30. Carolina Panthers (2-7)

Getty Image / Grant Halverson

Last Week: 23-22 (W Vs.Saints)
This Week: Vs. New York Giants

A win probably says more about the New Orleans Saints than it does the Panthers. But, Bryce Young is playing much better, and young teams do need to learn how to win games. Week 9 was a step in the right direction on both fronts.

29. Tennessee Titans (2-6)

Getty Image / Johnnie Izquierdo

Last Week: 20-17 (W Vs. Patriots) / OT
This Week: @ Chargers

The Titans pulled out a win in overtime, though it will probably hurt them long-term in terms of draft position. I think it’s fair to say they’re the least exciting team in the league. Will they go back to Will Levis at some point?

28. Las Vegas Raiders (2-7)

Getty Image / Dylan Buell

Last Week: 41-24 (L @ Bengals)
This Week: Bye

The Raiders are a bad, soft football team with arguably the league’s worst head coach in Antonio Pierce. The biggest question surrounding this franchise is whether Mark Davis will decide to make Pierce one-and-done. He needs to make sure that that is the case.

27. New York Giants (2-7)

Getty Image / Al Bello

Last Week: 27-22 (L Vs. Commanders)
This Week: @ Panthers

Speaking of bleak futures, the future in New York won’t turn around until Daniel Jones is gone. He’s limiting some genuinely good young playmakers on offense and hurting a defense that is playing hard week-in and week-out. At this point, the job security of GM Joe Schoen and Head Coach Brian Daboll is in serious jeopardy.

26. Cleveland Browns (2-7)

Getty Image / Gregory Shamus

Last Week: 27-10 (L Vs. Chargers)
This Week: Bye

The Jameis Winston honeymoon was short-lived, as he threw three interceptions and the team looked bad once again one week after beating the Ravens. It’s pertinent to mention Myles Garrett, who beat two of the league’s better tackles for three sacks in four plays at one point. He remains one of the league’s finest players.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7)

Last Week: 28-23 (L @ Eagles)
This Week: Vs. Vikings

Don’t let the score fool you. The Jaguars were significantly outplayed on Sunday. Give them credit for finding a way to make it interesting, but there wasn’t a lot of positives to take from this. After a solid October, Trevor Lawrence took a big step back. The defense gave up a ton of yards. It was a return to bad football.

24. Dallas Cowboys (3-5)

Getty Image / Todd Kirkland

Last Week: 27-21 (L @ Falcons)
This Week: Vs. Eagles

Dak Prescott is set to miss multiple weeks with a hamstring injury, and the Cowboys season may be over. The roster probably wasn’t good enough anyways, but it never got to play together with full health, either. Mike McCarthy feels like a lame duck coach at this point.

23. Miami Dolphins (2-6)

Getty Image / Bryan M. Bennett

Last Week: 30-27 (L @ Bills)
This Week: @ Rams

Another heartbreaking loss for the Dolphins, as their season has almost certainly slipped away. Still, you’ve got to like what you’ve seen from Tua Tagovailoa in his return from his concussion. And, the team hasn’t quit on Mike McDaniel.

22. New York Jets (3-6)

Getty Image / Luke Hales

Last Week: 21-13 (W Vs. Texans)
This Week: @ Cardinals

The Jets were left for dead after a Week 8 loss to the Patriots. But, maybe they’re not dead, after all. They played their most complete game of the season against the Texans. Only a huge blunder by Malachi Corley, dropping the ball before he crossed the goal line, kept the margin from being bigger. They have to run off a huge string of wins, but this was a start.

21. Chicago Bears (4-4)

Getty Image / Michael Owens

Last Week: 29-9 (L @ Cardinals)
This Week: Vs. Patriots

The Bears have spent all the goodwill they built up after a 4-2 start. The last two weeks, though very different games, have taken all of the air out of the fanbase. It was malpractice to let Matt Eberflus return to coach this team this year. This is too talented of a roster to waste on a poor coach like Eberflus.

20. Seattle Seahawks (4-5)

Getty Image / Steph Chambers

Last Week: 26-20 (L Vs. Rams)
This Week: Bye

The Seahawks continue to struggle, and it’s due in part to Geno Smith’s turnovers. His backbreaking red zone pick six completely changed the game, and likely turned a win into a loss. The season is slipping away.

19. Indianapolis Colts (4-5)

Getty Image / David Berding

Last Week: 21-13 (L @ Vikings)
This Week: Vs. Bills

The Colts went with Joe Flacco over Anthony Richardson because he was supposed to give them a better chance to win. But, they had their worst offensive game of the season. Now, it seems like they benched a promising, yet struggling, quarterback for nothing. The Vikings’ defense is good, and that trend might not continue. But, if it holds, that would be a disaster.

18. Denver Broncos (5-4)

Getty Image / Greg Fiume

Last Week: 41-10 (L @ Ravens)
This Week: @ Chiefs

Sunday was a “pretenders or contenders” game for the Denver Broncos. And, they were found out to be pretenders. That’s okay, because they weren’t really supposed to be contenders this year anyway. But, it was definitely a shock to fans who thought they could be a sleeper. Still, a lot of progress has been made on both sides of the ball.

17. Arizona Cardinals (5-4)

Getty Image / Christian Petersen

Last Week: 29-9 (W Vs. Bears)
This Week: Vs. Jets

Three straight wins for the first time since 2021 has the Arizona Cardinals in first place in the NFC West once again. We know the offense can be good. But, the weakness of this team has been the pass rush. That was not the case on Sunday, as they dominated the Bears up front and sacked Caleb Williams six times. That’s a promising sign going forward for a team that’s going to be in the playoff picture for a while longer.

16. Cincinnati Bengals (4-5)

Getty Image / Dylan Buell

Last Week: 41-24 (W Vs. Raiders)
This Week: @ Ravens

Joe Burrow continues to play at an MVP level, and it’s a shame this team is only 4-5. His fantastic play was on display once again on Sunday, torching the Raiders for five touchdowns. They’ve got a long ways to go with a lot of tough games still to play, but they’ve climbed back in it after a disastrous start.

15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-5)

Getty Image / Aaron Sprecher

Last Week: 30-24 (L Vs. Chiefs)
This Week: Vs. 49ers

Another heartbreaking loss for the Bucs, and this one was right there for the taking. But, Todd Bowles decided not to go for two in the final minute after Baker Mayfield led a sensational two-minute drill. The problem with playing for overtime against the Chiefs is that if the Chiefs win the coin toss, Patrick Mahomes isn’t going to let you touch the ball again. That’s exactly what happened.

14. Los Angeles Rams (4-4)

Getty Image / steph Chambers

Last Week: 26-20 (W @ Seahawks) / OT
This Week: Vs. Dolphins

The Rams overcame a Puca Nakua ejection and a poor effort on the ground to find a way to win. Left for dead at 1-4, they’re right back in it at 4-4. To keep winning, Kupp and Nakua need to be on the field together the rest of the way. The young defensive line pair of Braden Fiske and Jared brings hope for the future on defense.

13. Los Angeles Chargers (5-3)

Getty Image / jason miller

Last Week: 27-10 (W @ Browns)
This Week: Vs. Titans

The Chargers passing offense struggled through much of the first half of the season. But, for the second straight week, it found some rhythm. When you add in one of the league’s best defenses and a solid running game, they could absolutely pull an upset in the playoffs if they make it.

12. Atlanta Falcons (6-3)

Getty Image / kevin C. Cox

Last Week: 27-21 (W Vs. Cowboys)
This Week: @ Saints

The Cowboys are not a good football team right now. But, the Falcons did what they couldn’t do in Week 7 against Seattle and took care of business at home. This offense is really starting to click, and it has every piece to be one of the league’s best.

11. San Francisco 49ers (4-4)

Getty Image / lachlan cunningham

Last Week: Bye
This Week: @ Buccaneers

The 49ers needed the Bye Week, given the injuries they’ve suffered. It’s time for this team to go on a run in the second half of their schedule, as they’ve done many times before.

10. Houston Texans (6-3)

Getty Image / Sarah Stier

Last Week: 21-13 (L @ Jets)
This Week: Vs. Lions

Halloween was extra spooky for Texans fans, as they were scary bad against the Jets. Something is seriously wrong with this offense, and the defense let a struggling Jets offense get into a rhythm. Things may be teetering in Houston, though a weak division gives them a lot of breathing room.

9. Philadelphia Eagles (6-2)

Getty Image / Mitchell Leff

Last Week: 28-23 (W Vs. Jaguars)
This Week: @ Cowboys

The Eagles played much better than the close score in the 4th quarter suggests, and Saquon Barkley is incredible. But, strange coaching decisions kept the Jaguars in the game. At 6-2, Eagles fans are still calling for Nick Sirianni’s job.

8. Washington Commanders (7-2)

Getty Image / Al Bello

Last Week: 27-22 (W @ Giants)
This Week: Vs. Steelers

The Commanders avoided an emotional letdown after their sensational win over the Bears in Week 9 and dominated an inferior opponent in the Giants. The defense is really coming on strong, and that will determine how far this team goes.

7. Green Bay Packers (6-3)

Getty Image / stacy Revere

Last Week: 24-14 (L Vs. Lions)
This Week: Bye

With a chance to go into first place in the NFC North, the Packers instead laid an egg. They didn’t look comfortable in the elements, and Jordan Love threw another terrible interception, this time a backbreaking pick-six. He doesn’t look healthy, either. Overall, no shame in losing to the Lions, but you would’ve expected a better effort.

6. Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2)

Last Week: Bye
This Week: @ Commanders

The Steelers will have a big test coming out of the bye against the Commanders. It should tell us a lot in terms of just how good they are.

5. Buffalo Bills (7-2)

Getty Image / Timothy T. Ludwig

Last Week: 30-27 (W Vs. Dolphins)
This Week: @ Colts

The defense was a little leaky, but Josh Allen continues to play outstanding football. His only blemish on Sunday was on a well-thrown slant pass to Keon Coleman in the red zone that should’ve been a touchdown, only for it to bounce off the receiver and be intercepted. If Allen keeps playing at this level and taking care of the ball, the sky is the limit in a year that many thought would be a reloading year in Buffalo.

4. Minnesota Vikings (6-2)

Getty Image / David Berding

Last Week: 21-13 (W Vs. Colts)
This Week: @ Jaguars

The Vikings got back in the win column on the backs of their fantastic defense. They had Joe Flacco confused all night. Justin Jefferson continues to be absolutely dominant. Sam Darnold needs to get back to being a bit more careful with the football, but this team is very much a contender.

3. Baltimore Ravens (6-3)

Getty Image / Baltimore Ravens

Last Week: 41-10 (W Vs. Broncos)
This Week: Vs. Bengals

The Ravens offense continues to be unstoppable. But, the key to this team’s success in the playoffs may be the pass defense. They played one of their best games, slowing down a Denver passing game that had been trending upwards.

2. Detroit Lions (7-1)

Getty Image / Kevin Sabitus

Last Week: 24-14 (W @ Packers)
This Week: @ Texans

The Lions continue to be a total wagon. The dome team handled the elements in Green Bay much better than the home team. While it’s always good to be able to play in the elements, it looks like the Lions are going have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, as they’ve separated themselves from the rest of the NFC.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (8-0)

Getty Image / Michael Owens

Last Week: 30-24 (W Vs. Buccaneers)
This Week: Vs. Broncos

Once again, the Chiefs found a way to win, just as they have for fourteen games in a row dating back to last season. The passing offense finally looked like one led by Patrick Mahomes. Both Travis Kelce and Deandre Hopkins made monster impacts. It was probably their worst defensive performance of the season, given the weapons the Buccaneers didn’t have. But, they keep on winning.
