The contenders are starting to separate from the pretenders as we approach the NFL Playoffs. Here are all 32 teams ranked worst to first.

32. New York Giants (2-13)

Last Week: 34-7 (L) @ Falcons
This Week: vs. Colts

The Giants continue to be a downright pathetic NFL team. This might be the worst team in the history of the New York Giants, at least in the Super Bowl era. Shame on you, John Mara.

31. Tennessee Titans (3-12)

Last Week: 38-30 (L) @ Colts
This Week: @ Jaguars

Give them credit for rallying from a huge deficit to make things more competitive. But, ultimately, there’s a reason they trailed 38-7 midway through the third quarter against a mediocre Colts team.

30. Jacksonville Jaguars (3-12)

Last Week: 19-14 (L) @ Raiders
This Week: vs. Titans

As bas as Jacksonville has been this year, I still don’t feel like they’re that far away from being solid. They were an 8-3 team last year before everything fell apart.

29. Las Vegas Raiders (3-12)

Last Week: 19-14 (W) vs. Jaguars
This Week: @ Saints

The Raiders played themselves out of contention for the first-overall pick with their win over the Jaguars. That’s a development that may set the franchise back years.

28. New Orleans Saints (5-10)

Last Week: 34-0 (L) @ Packers
This Week: Vs. Raiders

With Derek Carr likely out for the season, the Saints will no longer be playing the solid football they’d played for interim head coach Darren Rizzi. Instead, they were completely listless against Green Bay. Their upcoming game against the Raiders will be unwatchable.

27. Chicago Bears (4-11)

Last Week: 34-17 (L) vs. Lions
This Week: vs. Seahawks

It’s downright incredible just how this Chicago season fell off the tracks. Had they defended Washington’s Hail Mary in October, they would’ve been 5-2. They haven’t won since, and the franchise has hit a new low.

26. Cleveland Browns (3-12)

Last Week: 24-6 (L) @ Bengals
This Week: vs. Dolphins

The Browns are just running out the clock on a lost season. The biggest question this offseason is centered around what to do with Deshaun Watson. That’s a decision that nobody envies having to make.

25. New England Patriots (3-12)

Last Week: 24-21 (L) @ Bills
This Week: vs. Chargers

The Patriots played the Bills tough on Sunday. Truthfully, they’ve played a lot of top teams tough this year. As the season winds down, it’s time to start thinking about how to best build around Drake Maye.

24. New York Jets (4-11)

Last Week: 19-9 (L) vs. Rams
This Week: @ Bills

The Jets became the first team in decades to score less than ten points in a game in which they didn’t punt. That’s an extraordinary accomplishment.

23. Arizona Cardinals (7-8)

Last Week: 36-30 (L) @ Panthers
This Week: @ Rams

Just a few weeks ago, Arizona was 6-4, and the future looked bright. Now, they’re 7-8, and there are serious questions about the direction of the franchise. Life comes at you fast in the NFL.

22. San Francisco 49ers (6-9)

Last Week: 29-17 (L) @ Dolphins
This Week: vs. Lions

The San Francisco must decide whether to pay Brock Purdy or not this offseason. Considering that fans of other teams are hoping they do just that, they should maybe think twice about doing so. Purdy was s shaky once again on Sunday.

21. Carolina Panthers (4-11)

Last Week: 36-30 (W) vs. Cardinals
This Week: @ Buccaneers

The Carolina Panthers, aside from last week’s lost to the Cowboys, continue to play solid football. The turnaround for this team in the second half of the year should have fans thinking that they can make a similar, yet, smaller, jump to the one that the Detroit Lions made from 2022 to 2023.

20. Dallas Cowboys (7-8)

Getty Image

Last Week: 26-24 (W) vs. Buccaneers
This Week: @ Eagles

Credit Dallas, as they continue to play hard, despite the season being essentially over for weeks and now officially over in terms of playoff hopes. Has Mike McCarthy done enough to save his job?

19. Indianapolis Colts (7-8)

Last Week: 38-30 (W) vs. Titans
This Week: @ Giants

They can’t trust Anthony Richardson to throw the ball, that’s for sure. So, they ran it a whopping 50 times, compared to 11 pass attempts. That was a winning formula, and at 7-8, they’re not out of the postseason quite yet.

18. Miami Dolphins (7-8)

Last Week: 29-17 (W) vs. 49ers
This Week: @ Browns

The Dolphins likely would be a playoff team this year had Tua Tagovailoa not missed time earlier in the year with a concussion. That’s something to hold on to in the offseason, though they still have a slim chance of making the postseason this year.

17. Seattle Seahawks (8-7)

Getty Image

Last Week: 27-24 (L) vs. Vikings
This Week: @ Bears

The Seahawks have completely let their NFC West lead slip away, and they’re now a long shot to make the playoffs. Still, overall, it’s been a good first season for head coach Mike MacDonald.

16. Atlanta Falcons (8-7)

Last Week: 34-7 (W) vs. Giants
This Week: @ Commanders

Two pick-sixes helped the scoreline, and the Giants are absolutely awful. But, Michael Penix Jr. looked solid in his debut as a starter, and the team finds itself back on top of the NFC South. They control their own destiny for a playoff spot.

15. Cincinnati Bengals (7-8)

Last Week: 24-6 (W) vs. Browns
This Week: vs. Broncos

I join many NFL fans when I say that it stinks the Bengals couldn’t have one a game or two more earlier in the year to put them in better playoff position down the stretch. While they do still technically have a chance of making the postseason, it’s slim.

14. Houston Texans (9-6)

Getty Image / Scott Winters

Last Week: 27-19 (L) @ Chiefs
This Week: vs. Ravens

The Texans played with the Chiefs on Saturday, but lost Tank Dell in the process. It’s hard to see this team doing anything in the postseason, that’s for sure.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers (10-5)

Last Week: 34-17 (L) @ Ravens
This Week: vs. Chiefs

The Steelers have been thoroughly outplayed the last two weeks by Super Bowl contenders in the Eagles and Ravens. Maybe this time was what we thought they were all along, which was a good-but-not-great team.

12. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-7)

Last Week: 26-24 (L) @ Cowboys
This Week: vs. Panthers

Make no mistake, this was a bad loss for the Buccaneers, who made a bunch of costly mistakes. Now, they find themselves behind the Falcons on the tiebreaker in the NFC South. It was just another in a series of heartbreaking Bucs losses this year.

11. Denver Broncos (9-6)

Last Week: 34-27 (L) @ Chargers
This Week: @ Bengals

The Broncos definitely had their chances on Thursday night to beat the Chargers, but didn’t make the plays. That being said, one win in their final two games will have them in the playoffs.

10. Washington Commanders (10-5)

Last Week: 36-33 (W) vs. Eagles
This Week: vs. Falcons

There’s no way anyone would believe you if you said that the Commanders would beat the Eagles despite turning the ball over five times. But, that’s exactly what they did, as Jayden Daniels rallied the troops late for a win. Their playoff percentage sits at 95%, and Jayden Daniels is almost certainly going to be the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.

9. Los Angeles Rams (9-6)

Last Week: 19-9 (W) @ Jets
This Week: vs. Cardinals

The Rams have now won eight of ten games, and they’re in firm control of the NFC West. What’s most impressive about that stretch is that they’ve won games in nearly every way imaginable. Nobody wants to play these guys in the playoffs.

8. Los Angeles Chargers (9-6)

Last Week: 34-27 (W) Vs. Broncos
This Week: @ Patriots

Justin Herbert is awesome, and the Chargers could absolutely play spoiler in the postseason. They were outplayed for much of the first half on Thursday, but played a ferocious second half

7. Baltimore Ravens (10-5)

Last Week: 34-17 (W) vs. Steelers
This Week: @ Texans

The Ravens absolutely pummeled the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday, making quite a statement in the process. Lamar Jackson reinserted himself in the MVP race, and while the Ravens still need a Pittsburgh loss to win the AFC North, the divisional odds have moved back in their favor.

6. Green Bay Packers (11-4)

Getty Image

Last Week: 34-0 (W) vs. Saints
This Week: vs. Vikings

Green Bay could absolutely be the best third-place team in a division in NFL regular season history. They are absolutely a Super Bowl contender, and will be for fun. Jordan Love is once again rounding into form at the right time.

5. Minnesota Vikings ( 13-2)

Last Week: 27-24 (W) @ Seahawks
This Week: vs. Packers

Will the Vikings get it done in the postseason? Who knows. But, all they’ve done this season is win in a variety of ways. And, it’s time we have a serious conversation about Justin Jefferson being better at his position than any NFL player is at theirs. He’s that good, and is consistently that good.

4. Philadelphia Eagles (12-3)

Last Week: 36-33 (L) @ Commanders
This Week: vs. Cowboys

The Eagles almost certainly don’t lose this game if Jalen Hurts doesn’t leave the game with a concussion. But, lose the game they did, despite having plenty of chances to win it. That being said, Saquon Barkley continues to close in on the all-time rushing record. He’s now got a real shot at it, needing around 135 yards per game in his final two games against two poor run defenses to get it done.

3. Detroit Lions (13-2)

Last Week: 34-17 (W) @ Bears
This Week: @ 49ers

Hey, look, a relatively injury-free week for the Detroit Lions! The Lions easily dispatched Chicago, and stayed healthy in the process. Still, at 13-2, they could end up as a Wild Card team if the Vikings beat them in Week 18.

2. Buffalo Bills (12-3)

Last Week: 24-21 (W) vs. Patriots
This Week: vs. Jets

It wasn’t pretty, but the Bills found a way to win. Was it a blip on the radar, or did the Bills peak too early? Only time will tell.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (14-1)

Last Week: 27-19 (W) vs. Texans
This Week: @ Steelers

Yes, the offensive line is suspect. But, Hollywood Brown’s debut showed that this offense could once again become one of the league’s best moving forward. If that’s the case, they will raise their third-straight Lombardi Trophy. It’s as simple as that.
