NFL Quarterback Power Rankings Week 12: Ranking All 32 Starting Quarterbacks From Worst To First

Week 11 of the NFL season is in the books. Here are all 32 projected starting quarterbacks for each’s team’s next game ranked worst to first.

Week 12 saw some incredible quarterback ply across the league mixed in with some really poor quarterback play.

The only new name into the rankings this week is Tommy DeVito, who is replacing Daniel Jones for the New York Giants.

32. Mac Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Last Week: 17/29, 58.6%, 138 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 37/60, 61.7%, 277 yds, 0 TD / 3 INT

It’s actually incredible that Bill Belichick took the Patriots to the playoffs with Mac Jones under center in 2021. Jones is clearly not a starting-caliber quarterback. He doesn’t have a single above-average trait. If your team wants to tank, you’ve found the right guy.

31. Tommy DeVito (New York Giants)

(no stats)

The Giants are finally giving up on Daniel Jones. They’re promoting DeVito ahead of Drew Lock. Last year, he went 3-3 with an 8 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. He’s definitely more fun than good, but Daniel Jones is neither of those things.

30. Cooper Rush (Dallas Cowboys)

Last Week: 32/55, 58.2%, 354 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 67/117, 57.3%, 566 yds, 2 TD / 2 INT

It shows how little the Cowboys believe in Trey Lance that they’re going to keep trotting Cooper Rush out there. At sub-60% completion percentage with poor yards per attempts and no ability to escape the pocket, he’s below replacement level.

29. Will Levis (Tennessee Titans)

Last Week: 17/31, 54.8%, 295 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 118/179, 65.9%, 1,169 yds, 8 TD / 8 INT

Levis made some pretty great throws on Sunday in the team’s loss, and he is doing a bit better job of taking care of the ball. But, part of that is Levis holding the ball too long, which is resulting in an uptick of sacks taken. The Titans should be looking to move on this offseason.

28. Gardner Minshew (Las Vegas Raiders)

Last Week: 30/43, 69.8%, 282 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 178/264, 67.4%, 1783 yds, 8 TD / 9 INT

In some ways, Minshew is the most consistent quarterback in the league. Week after week you know that you’re going to get aggressively mediocre quarterback play out of Minshew. The difference betwee Minshew and Tua Tagovailoa on Sunday was pretty striking. But, he’s going to continue to make a lot of well-deserved money as a bridge starter and high-end backup.

27. Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers)

Last Week: BYE
Season Stats: 92/153, 60.1%, 820 yds, 4 TD / 6 INT

Young will look to build off of the momentum he’s built in recent weeks coming out of the Bye Week. A test against the Chiefs will tell us a lot.

26. Jameis Winston (Cleveland Browns)

Last Week: 30/46, 65.2%, 395 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 89/145, 61.4%, 1,047 yds, 7 TD / 3 INT

You’d think with a stat line like that that the Browns would’ve won the game. They didn’t, and actually lost the 4th quarter 21-0 en route to a 35-14 loss. But, you have to wonder what their record would be had they started Jameis Winston over Deshaun Watson at the beginning of the season. He’s definitely an upgrade.

25. Anthony Richardson (Indianapolis Colts)

Last Week: 20/30, 66.7%, 272 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 79/163, 48.5%, 1,230 yds, 5 TD / 7 INT

We don’t want to get too excited over one game, but Anthony Richardson’s performance against the Jets was his best as a pro. If he builds on that, the Colts do have something here. The physical tools are absolutely all there.

24. Drake Maye (New England Patriots)

Last Week: 30/40, 75.0%, 282 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 127/190, 66.8%, 1,236 yds, 9 TD / 6 INT

Drake Maye’s progress week-to-week has to have Patriots fans thinking that they’ve found their guy long-term. Yes, he is turning the ball over a bit too much, but they’re not all his fault, and he’s doing a lot of good things with a weak supporting cast. I’m really enjoying watching him play.

23. Caleb Williams (Chicago Bears)

Last Week: 23/31, 74.2%, 231 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 201/325, 61.8%, 2016 yds, 9 TD / 5 INT

Caleb Williams looked like an entirely new player after the firing of Shane Waldron. He was fantastic against Green Bay. For the second time in a month, Williams led a game-winning drive only for factors outside of his control to choke it away. He needs to build on Sunday’s performance.

22. Aaron Rodgers (New York Jets)

Last Week: 22/29, 75.9%, 184 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 241/380, 63.4%, 2442 yds, 17 TD / 7 INT

For the first time in his career, we can confidently say that Aaron Rodgers is only average. The Jets were hoping for a bit better than average, considering they built the team around Rodgers. It seems unlikely that he will be back in New York next year.

21. Bo Nix (Denver Broncos)

Last Week: 28/33, 84.8%, 307 yds, 4 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 234/357, 65.5%, 2275 yds, 14 TD / 6 INT

The Falcons played like they were ready to get to their bye week, but Bo Nix was sensational against the Falcons. He was accurate, he attacked down the field, and he made plays with his legs. That’s the quarterback that Sean Payton envisioned when he took Nix in the first round in April. He’s closing the gap on Jayden Daniels for Offensive Rookie of the Year.

20. Russell Wilson (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Last Week: 23/36, 63.9%, 205 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 73/121, 60.3%, 942 yds, 6 TD / 2 INT

Russell wasn’t quite as good as he had been for the Steelers on Sunday. But, he got the job done. His red zone interception was truly puzzling, but he made plenty of plays, too. It would’ve been nice for him to get the team into the end zone at some point, but his job is to manage the game and make sure a fantastic defense doesn’t get put behind the 8-ball.

19. Derek Carr (New Orleans Saints)

Last Week: 21/27, 77.8%, 248 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 145/211, 68.7%, 1,742 yds, 13 TD / 4 INT

Quietly, Derek Carr has put together a very solid year. That continued on Sunday when he carved up the Cleveland Browns. It will be interesting to see if he hits the trade market this offseason. He could be a solid pickup for a team looking to accelerate their rebuild with a veteran quarterback.

18. Geno Smith (Seattle Seahawks)

Last Week: 25/32, 78.1%, 221 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 258/374, 69.0%, 2781 yds, 11 TD / 11 INT

Geno’s game-winning drive, which culminated in the a scramble for the winning touchdown for a huge divisional win over the 49ers, showed Geno Smith at his best. If he can eliminate the moments that show Geno Smith at his worst, this team can absolutely win the NFC West.

17. Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers)

Last Week: 13/17, 76.5%, 261 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 160/257, 62.3%, 2081 yds, 16 TD / 11 INT

The yards per attempt on Sunday was fantastic, at over 15. The film wasn’t as good. I say it every week, but Jordan Love needs to improve his consistency if he’s going to pay off the massive contract extension he got this offseason. Thankfully, he has the ability to do so.

16. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)

Last Week: 21/28, 75.0%, 159 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 202/306, 66.0%, 2613 yds, 13 TD / 8 INT

It’s just not clicking for Brock Purdy and this offense. 159 yards on 28 attempts is not what we’ve grown accustomed to from Purdy. Yes, some key guys like Brandon Aiyuk (out for the season) and George Kittle were out. But, this team still has more than enough for him to be a lot better than that.

15. Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins)

Last Week: 28/36, 77.8%, 288 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 141/192, 73.4%, 1,443 yds, 9 TD / 4 INT

It may be too little, too late for the Miami Dolphins, though they still do have a shot at the playoffs. But, Tua Tagovailoa’s play has shown the franchise that they need to continue to build around him. He’s been sensation since coming back from injury. His pinpoint accuracy and ability to hit receivers in stride is as good as anyone’s in the league. He could skyrocket up the rankings if he keeps playing well.

14. C.J. Stroud (Houston Texans)

Last Week: 23/34, 67.6%, 257 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 230/363, 63.4%, 2628 yds, 12 TD / 7 INT

Stroud looked a bit better than he has in recent weeks with Nico Collins returning to the lineup. Still, it’s not quite clicking like it was last year. A lot of that has to do with an offensive line dealing with serious injury issues. But, plenty of quarterbacks have navigated those kinds of issues better than Stroud has.

13. Sam Darnold (Minnesota Vikings)

Last Week: 20/32, 62.5%, 246 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 199/293, 67.9%, 2387 yds, 19 TD / 10 INT

The Titans defense is one of the most underrated units in the league, and Darnold turned in a solid performance against them on Sunday. He did lose a fumble, and it would be great to see him play a turnover-free game as we head into the stretch run.

12. Kirk Cousins (Atlanta Falcons)

Last Week: 18/27, 66.7%, 173 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 245/360, 68.1%, 2807 yds, 17 TD / 9 INT

The entire Falcons had a clunker on Sunday in Denver, including Cousins. That doesn’t erase all of the solid play he’s had this year. But, it does move him down in the rankings a bit. He needs to be better for this offense to reach its full potential.

11. Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

Last Week: 22/32, 68.8%, 191 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 202/294, 68.7%, 2338 yds, 10 TD / 3 INT

There’s no doubt that Daniels is hitting a bit of a rookie wall. He’s missing throws that he wasn’t earlier in the year, isn’t running as much, likely due to a rib injury, and looks less comfortable in the pocket. His performance against the Eagles was his worst performance since Week 1.

10. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

Last Week: 18/28, 64.3%, 221 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 182/263, 69.2%, 2197 yds, 12 TD / 5 INT

After a subpar start to the season, Hurts has really steadied himself in recent weeks. There’s still another gear to his game that we’ve seen in the past that he hasn’t quite reached this year, and that’s the key to Philadelphia’s Super Bowl hopes.

9. Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Last Week: Bye
Season Stats: 243/344, 70.6%, 2505 yds, 24 TD / 9 INT

Mayfield will look to continue playing great ball against a gettable Giants secondary in Week 12. He may get star receiver Mike Evans back from injury this weekend.

8. Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers)

Last Week: 17/36, 47.2%, 297 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 176/277, 63.5%, 2186 yds, 13 TD / 1 INT

It was a tale of two halves for Herbert. In the first half, he looked like someone who might play himself into the MVP conversation. The second half was full of struggles, before a fantastic game-winning drive. Herbert has been so steady all year. As his weapons mature and improve, he will be an MVP candidate in the years to come.

7. Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)

Last Week: Bye
Season Stats: 191/276, 69.2%, 2058 yds, 12 TD / 3 INT

Murray will look to continue the best stretch of his career in a huge divisional road game against the Seahawks this weekend.

6. Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams)

Last Week: 18/27, 66.7%, 295 yds, 4 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 232/349, 66.5%, 2557 yds, 13 TD / 7 INT

A Rams passing attack that hasn’t been healthy or otherwise all on the field together all at once finally was on Sunday. Predictably, Stafford was fantastic. He’s set up for a great finish to the season.

5. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)

Last Week: 23/33, 69.7%, 196 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 239/344, 69.5%, 2404 yds, 15 TD / 11 INT

Mahomes had some real highlights on Sunday, and his second interception was a desperation heave with the game already essentially over. Still, we’re all waiting for the guy who many think is the best player on the planet to play like it this season.

4. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)

Last Week: 16/33, 48.5%, 207 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 215/321, 67.0%, 2876 yds, 25 TD / 3 INT

Jackson is still very much in the MVP race. But, the Steelers continue to give him fits. Jackson was incredibly inefficient on Sunday and showed serious regression as a passer from the level he had been playing at. Still, he led a fantastic drive at the end of the game. There’s no real long-term concern here.

3. Jared Goff (Detroit Lions)

Last Week: 24/29, 82.8%, 412 yds, 4 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 197/270, 73.0%, 2492 yds, 20 TD / 9 INT

Goff reboudned from his five-interception game against the Texans with an absolutely dominant performance against Jacksonville on Sunday. When this offense is clicking, they’re so fun to watch.

2. Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals)

Last Week: 28/50, 56.0%, 356 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 274/408, 67.2%, 3028 yds, 27 TD / 4 INT

Joe Burrow deserves better than his team’s 4-7 record this year. He was magnificent on Sunday night, leading the Bengals back from a 27-6 second-half deficit. He’s getting pressured and hit a ton, and he’s standing in the pocket and delivering strikes. He’s a joy to watch, even if much of the rest of the team is a disaster.

1. Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)

Last Week: 27/40, 67.5%, 262 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 217/339, 64.0%, 2543 yds, 18 TD / 5 INT

Allen did have a pretty bad interception in the team’s huge win over the Chiefs. The rest of the game featured a sensational performance from Allen, including a game-sealing touchdown run on a crucial 4th down play. Out of all of the teams with serious Super Bowl hopes, no quarterback is doing more for their team than Josh Allen is for the Buffalo Bills. He’s in poll position for a well-deserved NFL MVP award.
