We’re nearly finished with the 2024 NFL regular season, and the quarterback hierarchy is starting to really cement itself.
As always, these are the 32 projected starting quarterbacks for Week 15 ranked worst to first. As of Tuesday evening, the Saints had not named a starter for Week 15, and hinted that Derek Carr may be able to play through his injury to his non-throwing hand. Thus, he stays in the rankings.
32. Desmond Ridder (Las Vegas Raiders)

Last Week: 12/18, 66.7%, 101 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 28/44, 63.6%, 239 yds, 1 TD / 0 INT
We saw enough of Desmond Ridder in Atlanta to know he is a low-level NFL backup at best. Sadly, the Raiders are likely stuck with Ridder for the rest of the season.
31. Mac Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Last Week: 23/31, 74.2%, 220 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 80/123, 65.0%, 732 yds, 2 TD / 5 INT
Mac Jones showed some flashes, and did indeed lead the Jaguars to a win. But, it is painful to watch him play every time he takes the field. How was he so good for the Patriots as a rookie?
30. Drew Lock (New York Giants)

Last Week: 21/49, 42.9%, 227 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 46/90, 51.1%, 414 yds, 0 TD / 2 INT
Lock started an atrocious 0-8 on Sunday, but played okay the rest of the game. The quarterback situation has been a longstanding nightmare in New York. They’ll try to solve the problem this offseason.
29. Anthony Richardson (Indianapolis Colts)

Last Week: Bye Week
Season Stats: 102/215, 47.4%, 1,511 yds, 7 TD / 9 INT
Anthony Richardson comes off the Bye Week into the four most important weeks of football of his life. How he played through the end of the year will determine whether the Colts look to build around him or move on.
28. Will Levis (Tennessee Titans)

Last Week: 19/32, 59.4%, 168 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 173/272, 63.6%, 1,827 yds, 12 TD / 9 INT
Levis continues to play mediocre football, and it’s hard to see the Titans building around him any longer. Only mustering six points against an atrocious Jacksonville defense just isn’t good enough.
27. Cooper Rush (Dallas Cowboys)

Last Week: 16/31, 51.6%, 183 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 128/216, 59.3%, 1,191 yds, 7 TD / 3 INT
Rush has filled in admirably for Dak Prescott. Ultimately, he’s just not all that talented compared to other NFL quarterbacks. He should be commended for scratching out a legitimate NFL career out of average talent.
26. Kirk Cousins (Atlanta Falcons)

Last Week: 23/37, 62.2%, 344 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 292/436, 67.0%, 3,396 yds, 17 TD / 15 INT
There’s no way that the Atlanta Falcons thought there would be real buzz about a quarterback change when they signed Kirk Cousins to a massive deal in free agency last offseason. But, he’s been downright awful during this four-game losing streak, and it may be time to make a change.
25. Aaron Rodgers (New York Jets)

Last Week: 27/39, 69.2%, 339 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 289/458, 63.1%, 2,966 yds, 20 TD / 8 INT
Frankly, Aaron Rodgers played one of his best games in a Jets uniform against the Dolphins. But, he’s missing more throws than he ever has before, and clearly his leadership is nonexistent. He will likely play somewhere next year, but it won’t be with the Jets.
24. Jameis Winston (Cleveland Browns)

Last Week: 24/41, 58.5%, 212 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 165/271, 60.9%, 1,975 yds, 13 TD / 9 INT
Jameis Winston is like a box of chocolates, as Forrest Gump would say. The highs continue to be incredibly high, and the lows continue to be incredibly low. But, each week, he’s entertaining, and fantasy owners of Jerry Jeudy sure are happy that Jameis Winston is starting.
23. Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers)

Last Week: 19/34, 55.9%, 191 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 158/268, 59.0%, 1,572 yds, 7 TD / 7 INT
Young continues to play good football for the Panthers, who continue to hurt him with drops. At this point, there’s no doubt that the Panthers will look to build around Young next year. That would’ve been unfathomable in mid-September.
22. Caleb Williams (Chicago Bears)

Last Week: 17/23, 73.9%, 134 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 270/434, 62.2%, 2,746 yds, 16 TD / 5 INT
The Bears offense is a mess. But, Caleb Williams continues to tries to make lemonade out of some pretty rotten coaching lemons. Hopefully, a new coach next year sets Caleb Williams up for success.
21. Drake Maye (New England Patriots)

Last Week: Bye Week
Season Stats: 172/256, 67.2%, 1,696 yds, 11 TD / 8 INT
Maye will look to continue to impress coming out of the Patriots’ Bye Week.
20. Derek Carr (New Orleans Saints)

Last Week: 20/31, 64.5%, 219 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 189/279, 67.7%, 2,145 yds, 15 TD / 5 INT
It’s unknown if Carr will play this weekend, as he injured his non-throwing hand against the Giants in Week 14. Honestly, he’s had a solid season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on the move this offseason to a team who wants to significantly improve a poor quarterback situation.
19. CJ Stroud (Houston Texans)

Last Week: Bye Week
Season Stats: 272/430, 63.3%, 3,117 yds, 15 TD / 9 INT
Stroud will look to return to the form that had him considered as the next superstar quarterback in the NFL during the final four weeks of the regular season and an almost-certain playoff appearance.
18. Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)

Last Week: 25/38, 65.8%, 259 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 271/396, 68.4%, 2,862 yds, 15 TD / 8 INT
A few weeks ago, Murray found himself in the top ten of this list. But, the issues that have always had people skeptical when it comes to Murray have shown up again. His size is such a limiting factor in the pocket, and he’s not quite accurate enough to be an elite quarterback with his small stature.
17. Russell Wilson (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Last Week: 15/26, 57.7%, 158 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 138/213, 64.8%, 1,784 yds, 12 TD / 3 INT
Russell Wilson continues to play winning football for the Steelers. The decision to sign with Pittsburgh has worked out incredibly well for both Wilson and the Steelers, to say the least.
16. Geno Smith (Seattle Seahawks)

Last Week: 24/30, 80.0%, 233 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 324/466, 69.5%, 3,474 yds, 14 TD / 12 INT
Geno Smith has had games this year when he’s led a more prolific passing offense. But, Sunday was one of his best games of the year. Geno was fantastic from the pocket against the Cardinals on Sunday, frequently taking what the defense gave him. If he continues to do that, Seattle can pull an upset in the postseason.
15. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)

Last Week: 20/25, 80.0%, 325 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 233/349, 66.8%, 3,032 yds, 15 TD / 8 INT
It’s been a bit of a struggle this year for Brock Purdy this year compared to last year. But, he absolutely shredded the Chicago Bears on Sunday, looking like the MVP candidate from last year. He will need to keep it up if the 49ers are to make the playoffs.
14. Denver Broncos (Bo Nix)

Last Week: Bye Week
Season Stats: 277/434, 63.8%, 2,842 yds, 17 TD / 8 INT
Nix and Jayden Daniels are locked in a tight race for Offensive Rookie of the Year. He will need a strong final four weeks to win the award.
13. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

Last Week: 14/21, 66.7%, 108 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 222/325, 68.3%, 2,602 yds, 16 TD / 5 INT
As well as the Eagles are playing, the passing offense has been a bit stagnant in recent weeks, drawing criticism from AJ Brown. Still, Hurts is playing steady football, even if the passing numbers aren’t prolific.
12. Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers)

Last Week: 12/20, 60.0%, 206 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 206/328, 62.8%, 2,724 yds, 21 TD / 11 INT
Love was solid, though not spectacular, against the Lions on Thursday Night Football. Ultimately, the 31 points he and the Green Bay offense put up should’ve been enough to win. Most importantly, Love w as interception free.
11. Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

Last Week: Bye Week
Season Stats: 252/362, 69.6%, 2,819 yds, 15 TD / 6 INT
Like Nix, Daniels will need a strong finish to the season to not only clinch a playoff berth, but win Offensive Rookie of the Year.
10. Sam Darnold (Minnesota Vikings)

Last Week: 22/28, 78.6%, 347 yds, 5 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 264/386, 68.4%, 3,299 yds, 28 TD / 10 INT
Sam Darnold played the finest game of his NFL career on Sunday, absolutely shredding the Falcons. Hear me out. If Josh Allen stumbles down the strech, and Darnold plays lights-out with a win over the Lions to win the division, why should he not receive serious MVP consideration?
9. Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers)

Last Week: 21/30, 70.0%, 213 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 234/366, 63.9%, 2,764 yds, 14 TD / 1 INT
Herbert continues to play fantastic football in an offense mostly devoid of weapons. No matter how you slice it, one interception in 366 attempts is absolutely sensational. The Chargers are building something special with Jim Harbaugh as head coach and Herbert as the quarterback.
8. Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins)

Last Week: 33/47, 70.2%, 331 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 240/325, 73.8%, 2,456 yds, 17 TD / 4 INT
It seems like the level that Tua Tagovailoa is playing at this year is flying under the radar. Tua has been exceptional since returning from his concussion suffered in Week 2. Had he been healthy all year, the Dolphins would almost certainly be a playoff team.
7. Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Last Week: 18/29, 62.1%, 295 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 306/436, 70.2%, 3,329 yds, 28 TD / 13 INT
Mayfield made a few mistakes on Sunday against the Raiders. But, he continues to play really fantastic football. Most importantly, his teammates rally around him and believe in him. The value of that cannot be overstated.
6. Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams)

Last Week: 23/30, 76.7%, 320 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 293/439, 66.7%, 3,303 yds, 19 TD / 7 INT
Matthew Stafford absolutely shredded the Bills, showing the entire league just how dangerous he and his star receiver tandem of Puka Nacua and Cooper Kupp can be.
5. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)

Last Week: Bye Week
Season Stats: 254/379, 67.0%, 3,290 yds, 29 TD / 3 INT
After a couple of weeks that took him out of the top spot in the MVP race, Jackson will look to win the award in the December and January, just like he did last year.
4. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)

Last Week: 24/37, 64.9%, 210 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 316/464, 68.1%, 3,189 yds, 20 TD / 11 INT
When his career is all said and done, nobody is going to talk about how great Patrick Mahomes was in 2024. But, his ability to consistently make winning plays in crunch time is the closest thing we’ve seen to Tom Brady. With another Super Bowl this season, the only quarterback ahead of him in the all-time rankings will be Tom Brady.
3. Jared Goff (Detroit Lions)

Last Week: 32/41, 78.0%, 283 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 276/381, 72.4%, 3,265 yds, 25 TD / 10 INT
Goff continues to absolutely shred defenses from the pocket. On a night that saw the Packers shut down top target Amon-Ra St. Brown, Goff spread it around. That’s the sign of an outstanding quarterback.
2. Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals)

Last Week: 33/44, 75.0%, 369 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 335/490, 68.4%, 3,706 yds, 33 TD / 6 INT
Joe Burrow is awesome, and if the Cincinnati Bengals win out and make the playoffs, he should be unanimous MVP. I’m not sure they’d have a single win without him this season.
1. Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)

Last Week: 22/37, 59.5%, 342 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 252/393, 64.1%, 3,033 yds, 23 TD / 5 INT
Yes, the Bills lost. But it wasn’t due to Josh Allen and the 42 points the offense put up. Allen continues to dazzle, and is closing in on his first MVP.
