NFL Quarterback Power Rankings Week 16: Ranking All 32 Starters Ahead Of Week 16

Week 15 of the NFL season has come and gone. Here are all 32 projected starters for week 16 of the NFL season ranked from worst to first.

We’re nearly done with the NFL season, and the bottom tier of quarterbacks is looking pretty bleak.

There were a few injuries this week, and a few starting jobs are unsettled. We decided to rank Spencer Rattler for the Saints, but Geno Smith should be able to play for the Seahawks. We are projecting Tim Boyle as the starter in New York, as well. Jameis Winston, Kirk Cousins and Will Levis have been benched and replaced. Finally, we are projecting Patrick Mahomes will start for the Chiefs.

32. Tim Boyle (New York Giants)

Getty Image

Last Week: 12/24, 50.0%, 123 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 27/50, 54.0%, 276 yds, 1 TD / 1 INT

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the New York Giants, they might be stuck watching Tim Boyle play the rest of the year. Tim Boyle threw 1 touchdown and 13 interceptions in college at UConn. How is he employed as an NFL quarterback?

31. Dorian Thompson Robinson (Cleveland Browns)

Getty Image

Last Week: 4/9, 44.4%, 18 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 15/34, 44.1%, 100 yds, 0 TD / 3 INT

Jameis Winston isn’t very good, but Dorian Thompson-Robinson is much worse, and a lot less fun. The Browns will be absolutely unwatchable with him under center the rest of the way.

30. Spencer Rattler (New Orleans Saints)

Getty Image

Last Week: 10/21, 47.6%, 135 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 69/120, 57.5%, 706 yds, 2 TD / 2 INT

Rattler did give the Saints a bit of a spark last week after Jake Haener was benched. But, we saw him start games earlier in the year, and it wasn’t very good. Maybe he will show some improvement.

29. Desmond Ridder (Las Vegas Raiders)

Getty Image

Last Week: 23/39, 59.0%, 208 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 51/83, 61.4%, 447 yds, 2 TD / 2 INT

Desmond Ridder wasn’t absolutely terrible against the Falcons. But, his limitations were on full display. This is another team that won’t be fun to watch at all down the stretch.

28. Mac Jones (Jacksonville Jaguars)

Getty Image

Last Week: 31/46, 67.4%, 294 yds, 2 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 111/169, 65.7%, 1,026 yds, 4 TD / 7 INT

Mac Jones made some plays on Sunday, and showed that he could possibly stick in the league as a backup for a long time. That’s the role that he would normally be in for the Jaguars.

27. Anthony Richardson (Indianapolis Colts)

Getty Image

Last Week: 17/38, 44.7%, 172 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 119/253, 47.0%, 1,683 yds, 7 TD / 11 INT

The passing stats don’t tell the whole story, as he does do damage with his legs. But, at this point, Anthony Richardson is not starting quarterback caliber. Will he ever be? That remains to be seen.

26. Michael Penix Jr. (Atlanta Falcons)

Getty Image

Last Week: N/A
Season Stats: 3/5, 60.0%, 38 yds, 0 TD / 0 INT

The top-ten pick will make his first start after Kirk Cousins was benched. Practice reports have been glowing, but he’s being thrown into a high-pressure situation in the middle of a playoff push.

25. Mason Rudolph (Tennessee Titans)

Getty Image

Last Week: 21/26, 80.8%, 209 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 97/154, 63.0%, 1,015 yds, 6 TD / 5 INT

Rudolph isn’t going to hurt the Titans with terrible turnovers as much as Will Levis has. That may not be for the best, as draft position is paramount.

24. Bryce Young (Carolina Panthers)

Getty Image

Last Week: 19/28, 67.9%, 219 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 177/296, 59.8%, 1,791 yds, 8 TD / 9 INT

After over a month of really solid play, Young regressed a bit in Week 15. Still, it was better than he played early in the year. They will build around him next year.

23. Cooper Rush (Dallas Cowboys)

Getty Image

Last Week: 18/29, 62.1%, 214 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 146/245, 59.6%, 1,405 yds, 10 TD / 3 INT

Cooper Rush has proven to be an outstanding backup. That’s good news for him, as a free agent this offseason, and will likely see a contract paying him around $7-$10 million annually.

22. Caleb Williams (Chicago Bears)

Getty Image

Last Week: 18/31, 58.1%, 191 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 288/465, 61.9%, 2,937 yds, 17 TD / 5 INT

The Bears are a complete disaster, and Caleb Williams isn’t playing as well as he could. That being said, he’s taking care of the ball. He doesn’t have a single interception during their eight-game losing streak.

21. Drake Maye (New England Patriots)

Getty Image

Last Week: 19/23, 82.6%, 202 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 191/279, 68.5%, 1,898 yds, 12 TD / 9 INT

Drake Maye is going to be a star in the NFL. The only question is just how big of a star he will be. The Patriots need to revamp this offense this offseason. If they do, Maye will have them in playoff contention next year.

20. Aaron Rodgers (New York Jets)

Getty Image

Last Week: 16/30, 53.3%, 289 yds, 3 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 305/488, 62.5%, 3,255 yds, 23 TD / 8 INT

Rodgers made more plays than he has in quite a while on Sunday. Naturally, the Jets season ended long ago in terms of a playoff push. But, it could make another team believe in him for next season.

19. Russell Wilson (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Getty Image

Last Week: 14/22, 63.6%, 128 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 152/235, 64.7%, 1,912 yds, 13 TD / 3 INT

Russell Wilson is much less effective without George Pickens to throw to. But, he was far from the reason why Pittsburgh was dominated by Philadelphia in Week 15.

18. Brock Purdy (San Francisco 49ers)

Getty Image

Last Week: 14/31, 45.2%, 142 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 247/380, 65.0%, 3,174 yds, 15 TD / 9 INT

Yes, the weather was bad. But, Brock Purdy was downright awful against the Rams on Thursday night. Paying him big-time money would be a massive mistake.

17. Geno Smith (Seattle Seahawks)

Getty Image

Last Week: 15/19, 78.9%, 149 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 339/485, 69.9%, 3,623 yds, 14 TD / 13 INT

Geno Smith hurt his knee during the team’s loss to the Packers on Sunday Night Football. It does seem like he will be able to play this weekend, however. Ultimately, he needs to take care of the football if the Seahawks want to win the NFC West.

16. Bo Nix (Denver Broncos)

Getty Image

Last Week: 20/33, 60.6%, 130 yds, 3 TD, 3 INT
Season Stats: 297/467, 63.6%, 2,972 yds, 20 TD / 11 INT

Nix has regressed significantly the last few weeks. But, it doesn’t erase what has been a very solid rookie season. The Broncos need him to start playing a bit better, though.

15. Kyler Murray (Arizona Cardinals)

Getty Image

Last Week: 23/30, 76.7%, 224 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 294/426, 69.0%, 3,086 yds, 15 TD / 8 INT

Kyler Murray got back to playing solid football against the Patriots in Week 15. The question is if he will ever be good enough to overcome his significant size limitations. That question will likely remain unanswered this year, even if he’s played well overall.

14. CJ Stroud (Houston Texans)

Getty Image

Last Week: 18/26, 69.2%, 131 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 290/456, 63.6%, 3,248 yds, 17 TD / 9 INT

This passing offense is strangely stagnant. But, Stroud did play a solid game against the Dolphins, even if he had to frequently check the ball down. Ultimately,

13. Tua Tagovailoa (Miami Dolphins)

Getty Image

Last Week: 29/40, 72.5%, 196 yds, 1 TD, 3 INT
Season Stats: 269/365, 73.7%, 2,652 yds, 18 TD / 7 INT

After weeks of great play, Tua was absolutely awful against the Houston Texans. It’s the kind of performance that ended the Dolphins’ season, one they simply couldn’t afford.

12. Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers)

Getty Image

Last Week: 20/27, 74.1%, 229 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 226/355, 63.7%, 2,953 yds, 23 TD / 11 INT

Love is starting to do a much better job of taking care of the football. He’s doing it at the right time, too, and is peaking late in the season for the second-straight year.

11. Jayden Daniels (Washington Commanders)

Getty Image

Last Week: 25/31, 80.6%, 226 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 277/393, 70.5%, 3,045 yds, 17 TD / 6 INT

After hitting a bit of a wall heading into the Week 14 Bye Week, Daniels played a solid game against the Saints. This is likely a one-and-done playoff team, but the fact that they’re likely heading to the postseason is a testament to the season Daniels ahs had.

10. Justin Herbert (Los Angeles Chargers)

Getty Image

Last Week: 21/33, 63.6%, 195 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 255/399, 63.9%, 2,959 yds, 16 TD / 2 INT

The Los Angeles Chargers need to significantly upgrade the offense in the offseason. It’s not so much personnel that’s the problem. Offensive coordinator Greg Roman is holding Herbert back, just like he held Lamar Jackson back.

9. Jalen Hurts (Philadelphia Eagles)

Getty Image

Last Week: 25/32, 78.1%, 290 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 247/357, 69.2%, 2,892 yds, 18 TD / 5 INT

The Eagles had been winning due to a fantastic run game and sensational defense for much of their ten-game win streak. On Sunday, it was Jalen Hurts’ turn to steal the show. He was fantastic in the passing game. Frankly, it’s the best he’s thrown the ball since the 2022 season.

8. Sam Darnold (Minnesota Vikings)

Getty Image

Last Week: 24/40, 60.0%, 231 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 288/426, 67.6%, 3,530 yds, 29 TD / 11 INT

Sam Darnold is a free agent this offseason, and someone is going to make him very rich. Will it be the Vikings, or will they turn to first-round rookie JJ McCarthy?

7. Matthew Stafford (Los Angeles Rams)

Getty Image

Last Week: 16/27, 59.3%, 160 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 309/466, 66.3%, 3,463 yds, 19 TD / 7 INT

The weather conditions were poor on Thursday Night Football in San Francisco. But, Matthew Stafford handled the conditions much better than Brock Purdy did, that’s for sure. He’s led the Rams all the way back from last place to first in the NFC West.

6. Baker Mayfield (Tampa Bay Buccaneers)

Getty Image

Last Week: 22/27, 81.5%, 288 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
Season Stats: 328/463, 70.8%, 3,617 yds, 32 TD / 14 INT

Baker Mayfield, to me, has been the best of the second tier of quarterbacks all year. The Buccaneers have faced plenty of adversity, and he’s kept them afloat. He’s had such a great career renaissance in Tampa Bay.

5. Patrick Mahomes (Kansas City Chiefs)

Getty Image

Last Week: 19/38, 50.0%, 159 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 335/502, 66.7%, 3,348 yds, 22 TD / 11 INT

After a few weeks of efficient play, he took a step back statistically against the Browns. But, the biggest concern is his sprained ankle. It’s unclear at this point if he will play on Saturday against Houston or on Christmas Day against the Steelers.

4. Lamar Jackson (Baltimore Ravens)

Getty Image

Last Week: 21/25, 84.0%, 290 yds, 5 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 275/404, 68.1%, 3,580 yds, 34 TD / 3 INT

Jackson absolutely torched the Giants to get back into the MVP race. Ultimately, I can’t give him too much credit, because it’s the Giants. But, a big game against the Steelers, who have historically shut him down, would go a long way towards challenging Josh Allen for the MVP.

3. Jared Goff (Detroit Lions)

Getty Image

Last Week: 38/59, 64.4%, 494 yds, 5 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 314/440, 71.4%, 3,759 yds, 30 TD / 10 INT

The injuries are piling up on defense, and he lost half of his dynamic running back duo in David Montgomery. But, Jared Goff continues to play great football. He torched a shorthanded Bills secondary.

2. Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals)

Last Week: 26/37, 70.3%, 271 yds, 3 TD, 2 INT
Season Stats: 361/527, 68.5%, 3,977 yds, 36 TD / 8 INT

Joe Burrow could end up willing the Bengals to the playoffs if things break their way. He’s had too good of a season not to be in the postseason.

1. Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills)

Getty Image

Last Week: 23/34, 67.6%, 362 yds, 2 TD, 0 INT
Season Stats: 275/427, 64.4%, 3,395 yds, 25 TD / 5 INT

There’s nothing else to say about Josh Allen’s play down the stretch that hasn’t already been said. Unless something drastically changes, Josh Allen is the MVP of the NFL in 2024. He’s a remarkable player playing his best football with an average group of weapons. And, he’s probably the most fun player to watch in the NFL, too.
