The Jets were obviously hoping Aaron Rodgers was going to play an instrumental role in helping the embattled franchise turn things around. Unfortunately, that did not end up being the case, and all signs point to the brief era coming to an end after this season based on an explosive report that asserts owner Woody Johnson is firmly over the aging QB.

There’s currently no telling what the future holds for Aaron Rodgers as his time with the Jets is seemingly on the verge of coming to an end.
It appears there’s a solid chance the man who will be 41 years old when the 2025 campaign kicks off may simply decide to enter a well-earned retirement after a Hall of Fame career spanning 20 seasons, but he could also opt for one last rodeo before hanging up his cleats.
If that ends up being the case, there are a number of NFL teams who stand out as potential suitors if we assume the Jets are willing to eat the money they’ll owe by releasing him.
Giants

This entire list hinges on the assumption Rodgers would be willing to go to a team that’s also dealing with its fair share of dysfunction, and the Giants certainly fit that bill after making the decision to bench Daniel Jones less than two years after he got a four-year deal worth $160 million.
Rodgers wouldn’t have to worry about starting over in a new city by linking up with a Giants team that’s currently relying on Tommy DeVito and could possibly benefit from having an aging but experienced veteran under center as they search for a more suitable long-term option.
Colts

This seems like one of the more natural fits, as the Colts were more than willing to put their faith in a quarterback in the twilight of his career this year by turning to Joe Flacco after Anthony Richardson failed to live up to expectations.
It’s unclear what the franchise plans to do with Richardson going forward, but he could undoubtedly benefit from the guidance of an incredibly knowledgeable QB with two decades of NFL experience under his belt.
Browns

Iit’s still unclear what the Browns are going to do to address the Deshaun Watson situation once he returns from the Achilles injury that ended his season. His play leading up to that turning point suggests they need to make a change, but freeing themselves from the massive contract they foolishly handed him is going to be a very tall task.
One of the most intriguing aspects of this potential partnership is the run Joe Flacco went on when he stepped up to replace Watson before leading the Browns to the playoffs in 2023.
There’s no telling if Kevin Stefanski would be able to replicate that success with Rodgers (assuming the head coach still has a job next season), but it might be worth a shot for a Cleveland team that doesn’t have that much to lose.
Titans

At this point, it’s pretty clear Will Levis is not going to be That Guy for the Titans, as it’s no longer that hard to wonder why he ended up dropping to the second round of the NFL Draft in 2023.
Levis obviously hasn’t gotten help from an offensive line that’s been a glaring issue for Tennessee all season, and I doubt Rodgers will be scrambling to head to the Titans if they can’t address that issue given his age and injury history.
However, if manage to fix those shortcomings in the offseason, it could bolster their position a bit.
Vikings

This is undoubtedly the funniest option on this list, as Rodgers would be going Full Brett Favre by joining the Vikings following a brief stint with the Jets after spending the bulk of his career with the Packers.
It’s also seemingly in the realm of possibility, as Minnesota will likely need a new starting QB once Sam Darnold enters free agency. All signs point to J.J. McCarthy stepping in to fill that void (they picked him with the 10th overall pick for a reason), but it might not hurt to have a Plan B when you consider he hasn’t taken a single NFL snap due to the knee surgeries that postponed his rookie campaign.
Steelers

The Steelers are also dealing with some uncertainty when it comes to their QB situation after the current season, as Russell Wilson and Justin Fields will both have the chance to test the waters of free agency.
If they’re unable to retain either man, Pittsburgh will have some interesting decisions to make. It seems safe to assume they want to find a younger passer with the potential to become their franchise quarterback, but that’s also going to be easier said than done.
Raiders

The quarterback situation in Las Vegas is far from the only reason the Raiders have struggled this season, but it has certainly not helped a team that had to know this was coming when its preseason featured a QB battle between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O’Connell.
The Raiders will almost certainly be able to snag a promising QB in the draft based on their current record, but if Caleb Williams wasn’t able to instantly transform the Bears into contenders, I have a hard time believing any members of this year’s class are going to serve as an instantaneous fix.
Rodgers may not be much better based on how he’s looked, but they could probably do worse.
