Super Bowl LIX is just a few days away, and most of the focus is on the Kansas City Chiefs or Philadelphia Eagles star players that could change the game with a great play.
But, football games are more often lost than they are won. Typically, it’s the team that makes fewer mistakes that wins the game.
These ten players could make a crucial mistake that could lose their team the Super Bowl
Kansas City Chiefs Kicker Harrison Butker

Butker has been a phenomenal postseason kicker in his career, and normally he wouldn’t have sniffed making this list. But, since his knee injury earlier this year, his mechanics have been shaky at best. He’s not at full strength, and a miss on Sunday could prove costly.
Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts

Jalen Hurts has been a very good postseason quarterback in his career, and had an excellent NFC Championship Game after a slow start to the postseason. But, he has not been good at all against the blitz this season, and Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Steve Spagunolo loves to blitz. Hurts was great in the Super Bowl two years ago, but did have a costly fumble returned for a touchdown.
Kansas City Chiefs Safety Bryan Cook

Cook has been the weak link of the Chiefs’ secondary all year. And, the Eagles have the weapons to test him through the air. Plus, at some point, he’s going to need to make a crucial open field tackle on Saquon Barkley. That could make or break the game.
Philadelphia Eagles Guard Mekhi Becton

Mekhi Becton has done a nice job in Philadelphia this year, especially in the run game. But, he’s a huge liability as a pass blocker, and is going to be matched up with superstar Chris Jones. He could struggle mightily in that matchup on passing down.
Kansas City Chiefs Offensive Tackle Jawaan Taylor

Taylor, the oft-penalized right tackle in Kansas City, has always been susceptible to the speed rush. That’s not good for Kansas City, considering that Philadelphia defensive end Nolan Smith can really bend around the edge. One sack or pressure should be the difference in the game.
Philadelphia Eagles Center Cam Jurgens

Jurgens has been fantastic in his first year as a starter after Jason Kelce’s retirement. But, he picked up a knee injury in the NFC Championship Game. He’s going to play on Sunday, but it’s hard to imagine he will be at full strength.
Philadelphia Eagles Kicker Jake Elliott

Elliott has struggled at times this year, and has already missed five extra points in his postseason career. While he’s normally been great on field goals in the playoffs, he did miss in the NFC Championship Game. This game is going to be close. He cannot give points away.
Philadelphia Eagles Cornerback Darius Slay

Slay has been a good pro for a long time in the NFL. But, he’s the weak link of Philadelphia’s three main cornerbacks, and doesn’t have the foot speed he once did. Look for Kansas City to try to isolate him on either Xavier Worthy or Hollywood Brown for a deep shot.
Kansas City Chiefs guard Mike Caliendo

Caliendo has been tasked with starting duty due to the left tackle issue that caused superstar guard Joe Thuney to slide out wide. He has not been very good at all. The Eagles have a fantastic interior defensive line, and he could be a huge liability for Kansas City.
The Kansas City Chiefs Receiving Corps

There have been entire games where the Chiefs wide receivers have simply not been able to get open. Despite Slay’s lack of foot speed, the Philadelphia cornerbacks match up really favorably with the Kansas City wide receivers. If they can’t get open, Philadelphia will win the game.
