The NFL Scouting Combine can make or break a player’s draft stock. For these ten players, they saw their draft stock sink after the annual event held last week in Indianapolis.

WR Isaiah Bond

Bond was openly bragging about challenging the 40-yard dash record, set by fellow Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy in 2024 at 4.21. Instead, he ran a 4.39, which is good, but not anywhere near what he said he was going to run. That’s rubbed some teams the wrong way, and he was also up-and-down in the drills.

QB Will Howard

The Ohio State national champion had a disastrous combine. His testing numbers were poor, and he was the worst quarterback in the passing drills, routinely throwing incompletions. It went about as poorly as it could have.

OL Tyler Booker

The Alabama offensive lineman tested very poorly, showing off limited athleticism that gave him a 3.93 RAS score out of 10. His film is good, but it’s hard to ignore testing that bad.

WR Josh Kelly

Michael C. Johnson

Kelly was ultra-productive in 2024 at Texas Tech. But, he ran an atrocious 4.7 40 and was inconsistent in the drills at the combine. His draft stock has collapsed.

QB Shedeur Sanders

Shedeur didn’t participate in testing or drills in the combine. But, throughout the week, rumors swirled that NFL teams were souring on him. It seems as if he has totally lost momentum as draft day approaches.

RB Ollie Gordon II

After a down season in 2024, Gordon needed a good combine to get back into the Round 2 conversation. That didn’t happen. He ran a 4.61 40, and was inconsistent in the drills. The rest of his testing numbers were solid, but nothing stood out.

DE Jack Sawyer

Ohio State’s postseason hero measured in with ridiculously short arms and stumbled during a drill. His stock dropped considerably, as players at his position rarely succeed with arms that short.

LB Jay Higgins

On tape, Iowa’s Jay Higgins showed fantastic instincts and playmaking ability. But, his testing was dreadful, adding up to a 1.87/10 RAS score. A 4.82 40 with limited agility is not going to cut it in the National Football League.

WR Tez Johnson

Tez Johnson was unstoppable at times for the Oregon Ducks the last few seasons. But, he weighed in at just over 150lb, and ran a 4.51 40. Players in the NFL at 154lb simply don’t exist, and it seems as if he doesn’t have the requisite speed to make up for being the size of a junior high football player. Teams are questioning his ability to stick at the next level.

DL JJ Pegues

Some teams are actually looking at Pegues as a fullback, and he might have to end up there. His 40 and vertical jump showed a player with limited explosiveness and he has just average-at-best size for defensive tackle. He seems to be a fringe DT prospect at the next level.
