These Ten Superstars will define and decide Super Bowl LIX.

Super Bowl LIX is just nine days away, and it’s set to be an instant classic. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles seem evenly matched on paper, and that’s how the experts see it playing out as well.
What’s gonna decide the game? Look to these stars to make game-changing plays.
Kansas City Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes

This one goes without saying, right? Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback of his generation, and has a real shot at chasing down Tom Brady to be the Greatest Quarterback of All Time. Mahomes has already won three Super Bowls, and has trailed by ten points in all three of them. He is the most clutch player on the planet, the most talented player on the planet, and the one quarterback you’d take to win you a football game over anyone else currently
Kansas City Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce

Every superhero needs a sidekick, and Travis Kelce makes for one heck of a sidekick for Patrick Mahomes. Kelce, more well-known for his relationship with the world’s biggest pop star, Taylor Swift. But, he’s going into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot, is the best pass-catching tight end of all-time, and has a knack for the big moments, even though he’s now 35. If you want to beat Kansas City, you have to shut him down.
Kansas City Chiefs Defensive Tackle Chris Jones

Chris Jones is a gamewrecker. Just ask the San Francisco 49ers, who would’ve been Super Bowl Champions if it wasn’t for Chris Jones last year. Jones is another first-ballot Hall of Fame selection when that time comes. Don’t let his modest sack numbers this year fool you. He was Pro Football Focus’s top-graded interior defensive lineman this season.
Kansas City Chiefs Linebacker Leo Chenal

The Kansas City Chiefs have a lot of cap room tied up in their superstars, especially the three previously mentioned. How do you keep a dynasty going with cap constraints? You make picks like Leo Chenal. Chenal, a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has developed into one of the league’s very best box linebackers. He has a knack for the football and is an effective blitzer, too. Look for him to force a turnover.
Kansas City Chiefs Cornerback Trent McDuffie

The Chiefs traded L’Jarius Sneed to the Titans in the offseason because they thought they had a superstar in McDuffie to take over as the team’s top cornerback. They were correct, as McDuffie has been all-world this year and has been as good as any corner in the league in coverage. He will be tasked with plenty of reps against both AJ Brown and Devonta Smith, and needs to play well.
Philadelphia Eagles Quarterback Jalen Hurts

He’s not as good as the other quarterback, but Jalen Hurts has proven to be a pretty special player in the NFL. He’s been pretty banged up during the playoffs, but he played his best game of the postseason in the NFC Championship Game. And, he was fantastic in the Super Bowl loss to the Chiefs two years ago.
Philadelphia Eagles Running Back Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley has been the best player in professional football this year, and after the Super Bowl, no one will have ever run for more yards in an NFL season than he has. He’s been at his best in the postseason, which is saying something, considering he ran for 2,000 yards in the regular season. It just feels like he’s going to rip off a career-defining long run in the Super Bowl, doesn’t it?
Philadelphia Eagles Offensive Tackles Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata

Ok, so this is technically cheating, as I put two guys here. But the Philadelphia bookends are arguably the best at their positions in the NFL, and provide such an advantage for the Eagles both through the air on the ground. They could take over this game in the trenches.
Philadelphia Eagles Defensive Tackle Jalen Carter

As Chris Jones starts to age, Jalen Carter seems to be his heir apparent. The two are very similar players, and Carter established himself as one of the league’s very best players this year in just his second year. He’s had a fantastic postseason, too, and matches up well with the interior of the Kansas City line with Joe Thuney sliding out to left tackle.
Philadelphia Eagles Linebacker Zack Baun

The Eagles picked up Zack Baun essentially off the trash heap in the offseason in free agency. He’s been the best linebacker in all of football this year, according to Pro Football Focus. He does everything for the Philadelphia defense, and has had a nose for the ball all season long. He’s had a tremendous season, and has made himself a lot of money.
