The MLB season is underway, but these ten teams have no chance to win the World Series.
Pittsburgh Pirates

Paul Skenes might be the best pitcher in all of baseball. But, outside of Skenes, Mitch Keller, O’Neil Cruz and Brian Reynolds, the Pirates don’t have many quality major leaguers on the roster. Owner Bob Nuttig continues to shortchange this franchise.
San Francisco Giants

Team legend and new GM Buster Posey is going to turn things around in the Bay and get them back in contention. But, the Giants simply don’t have the star power to compete in a loaded NL.
Chicago White Sox

Last year, the White Sox were the worst team in MLB history in terms of losses. They could win twenty more games, a massive improvement, and still lose 101 games. There is no world where they win the World Series this year.
Washington Nationals

After winning the World Series in 2019, the Nationals sold off many of the pieces that helped them win that title over the next few years. Those trades are starting to pay dividends, as they have a great young core. But, they’re simply not good enough to compete in the NL quite yet.
St. Louis Cardinals

At no time over the last few decades would the Cardinals have made this list. But, the team is in a bit of a transition period and lacks star power. A well-run franchise won’t be down for long, but the Cardinals aren’t serious contenders to win the World Series.
Athletics

No, that tite isn’t a misprint. The Ahletics are known as just the Athletics now after leaving Oakland for a pit stop in Sacramento before they permanently move to Las Vegas. On the field, they will be better than many think this year, and have some interesting pieces, but they are light years from contention.
Los Angeles Angels

Given the fact that they have an owner willing to spend and a good location, no franchise underwhelms as much as the Angels. They should be rebuilding more aggressively than they are, but they seem content to be mediocre once again.
Miami Marlins

You have to feel bad for Marlins fans. Ownership refuses to put a quality product on the field, and they’re at a significant resource disadvantage with four other teams in the division willing to spend. Ace pitcher Sandy Alcantara will almost certainly be traded during the season.
Colorado Rockies

The Rockies have a beautiful ballpark, a loyal fanbase, and not much else. Their roster is devoid of talent, and this team has no hope for 2025 as well as the next few years.
Tampa Bay Rays

The Rays have been one of the best-run franchises in the league for the better part of two decades. But, off-field issues and injuries have left this roster decimated, and the team won’t even be able to play in their home ballpark this year. It’s hard to see them having a good year given the circumstances.
