Now more than ever, the NBA puts a premimum on shooting. These ten players were the most pure shooters to play in the NBA. They are listed in no particular order.

Steph Curry

You can’t talk about greatest shooters of all-time without talking about Steph Curry. He revolutionized the NBA with his long-range shooting and ability to make three-pointers off the dribble. The all-time leader in three-pointers made is still an elite shooter in the NBA as he approaches his 37th birthday.

Pete Maravich

There was no three-point line when Maravich was playing in the NBA. That was a huge break for defenses, because Maravich was routinely pulling up from three-point range despite the shot only being worth two points. One of the most gifted offensive players ever, Maravich was an incredible shooter.

Peja Stojakovic

Stojakovic is arguably the best spot-up shooter of all-time. The Serbian was nearly automatic when left open, and had a lightning-quick release that made him arguably the most feared shooter of the 2000s.

Steve Nash

People think of Nash’s ability as a passer, as he’s one of the very best passers of all-time, too. But, he made the 50-40-90 club (over 50% from the floor, 40% from three-point range, and 90% from the foul line) a whopping four times in a row from 05-06 to 09-10. He was a lethal shooter from anywhere on the floor, with a repeatable release.

Klay Thompson

Thompson, the other half of the Splash Brothers with Steph Curry, has been a phenomenal shooter dating back to his college years at Washington State. His lightning-quick release, ability ot come off screens and square his body quickly, and good length make him a handful to keep from getting good looks. He’s fifth all-time in made three-pointers, and could certainly pass Ray Allen for 4th before his career ends.

Larry Bird

Larry Bird’s shooting stroke was ahead of his time. Though the league introduced the three-point line for his rookie year, players simply didn’t shoot as many threes. Bird should’ve been shooting a lot more, as he was a career 38% shooter. He was arguably the best mid-range shooter of all-time, and dominated the three-point contest as well. His shooting mechanics were unorthodox, but Larry Bird made it work.

Reggie Miller

At one time, Miller was considered by many to be the best shooter of all-time. He retired as the all-time leader in three-pointers made in a career, and his quick release made him so hard to guard. Miller was also an 89% free throw shooter.

Kyle Korver

Kyle Korver was in the NBA to do one thing: shoot. And, he was one of the very best at that one thing. Korver was an elite spot-up shooter, with picture-perfect mechanics. He made over 2,400 three-pointers in his career, and shot an astonishing 42.9% from deep for his career.

Ray Allen

Does Ray Allen have the best release ever? It’s hard to argue. His iconc high release was impossible to contest, and he retired as the all-time leader in three-point field goals made. Ray Allen’s stroke was absolutely pure.

Kevin Durant

With respect do Dirk Nowitzki, Durant is the best shooter over 6-foot-9 of all-time. It’s not all from deep, either, as he’s as good as any mid-range shooter that’s ever played. His ability to shoot off the dribble from anywhere on the court is second to none in the history of the game. He’s 15th all-time and rising in the all-time three-pointers made chart, and no one taller than him is above him on that list.
