Game Analysis:
The upcoming matchup between the Cincinnati Bengals and Carolina Panthers presents two teams with very different trajectories. The Bengals, winless at 0-3, are desperate for their first victory of the season after a rough loss to the Commanders where they allowed 38 points. Despite Joe Burrow throwing for 324 yards and 3 touchdowns last week, Cincinnati’s defense has struggled, giving up an average of 26.7 points per game. Their inability to stop the run has been particularly bad, ranking last in the league, which could be an issue against a revitalized Panthers offense..
Carolina, sitting at 1-2, is coming off a 36-22 win against the Raiders, with veteran quarterback Andy Dalton stepping in for Bryce Young and throwing for 319 yards and 3 touchdowns. The Panthers’ defense, however, has been shaky, allowing the most points per game in the league (31.7), but they’ve managed to generate turnovers, which could be key against a Bengals team prone to offensive inconsistency. With wide receiver Adam Thielen out, the Panthers will need other playmakers to step up, but they could find success exploiting Cincinnati’s struggling defense.
