Game Analysis:

This Sunday’s game between the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Chargers will be a big one, especially with both teams coming off contrasting starts to the season. The Chargers opened their 2024 campaign with a solid 22-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, relying heavily on their ground game with J.K. Dobbins rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown. Justin Herbert had a solid 144 passing yards and a touchdown, but the Chargers’ balanced offensive attack and strong defensive performance, including a sack and forced fumble by Joey Bosa, helped them get the win. They’ll be looking to replicate this formula on the road against a Panthers team that struggled defensively in their season opener.

The Panthers, on the other hand, are trying to recover after a tough 47-10 loss to the New Orleans Saints. Bryce Young, in his sophomore debut, had a difficult time finding rhythm, completing just 43% of his passes for 161 yards and two interceptions. Carolina’s offensive line struggled to protect him, allowing four sacks. Their rushing attack also lacked effectiveness, gaining only 58 yards on the ground. With Derrick Brown out for the season, the Panthers’ defense will need a significant improvement, particularly in stopping the run, as they face a Chargers offense that excelled in that area last week.
