A high school football program in the state of Georgia recently unveiled a new indoor facility to social media followers. It rivals that of most colleges.

Thomas County Central was able to practice in the venue for the first time this week. They’ll prep for the 2025 Georgia state playoffs like kings!

Thomas CC is located in Thomasville near the Florida border, about 35 miles northeast of Tallahassee. The Yellow Jackets are consistently viewed as a championship contender.

Over the last three seasons, that’s been truer than ever. Thomas County Central is 46-3 since the start of the 2022 season. That includes a perfect 8-0 start to the current campaign.

The program won the 6A GHSA State Championship in 2023. It hopes to secure another title this year.

The school has made an investment in future success. It boasts top-notch facilities, which are only getting better.

Georgia high school’s football facility is mind-blowing.

The school started the construction of a $25 million multi-purpose center in 2024. That project was completed in 2025.

The facility is to be used by the football team, as well as the band, ROTC, basketball team, gymnastics, cheerleading, and more. The indoor practice field is insane.

From cutting-edge weight rooms and film study areas, to locker rooms and recovery zones, dining area, gymnastics ‘pit’, and the home of the Yellow Jacket Sports Hall of Fame, this facility is built with the future in mind.

Thomas County Central provided a behind-the-scenes look at the progress back in April. Head football coach Justin Rogers led social media viewers through an online tour of the building.

Construction is now complete.

That initial sneak-peek provided followers with an idea of the project’s massive size. On Monday, the school was able to show off the latest update.

It rained in South Georgia on Monday afternoon. That gave the Thomas County Central football team an excuse to use the recently finished facility.

Video of the indoor building was posted to social media. Viewers were wowed by the state-of-the-art venue.

Players got their first up-close and personal experience in the practice facility this week. The word “impressive” doesn’t do it justice!

College programs would be jealous.

There are many that can’t afford these luxuries. Thomas County Central’s new hub rivals some of the top facilities in the sport.

As a Palmetto State native, I was floored. While not all of the $25 million cost was spent on football alone, it was on par with recent indoor facility costs at South Carolina and Coastal Carolina.

The Gamecocks dropped more than $14 million on its indoor practice field a decade ago before spending another $50 million on a full-blown operations center.

The Chanticleers, meanwhile, just opened a $20 million, 90,000-square foot indoor football building in Conway. For reference, this venue at Thomas County Central is 80,000 square feet.

Georgia takes its high school football seriously! The Yellow Jackets are reaping the benefits.
