50 Cent is still trolling Floyd Mayweather after all these years.
On Tuesday, TMZ reported that Mayweather had filed a lawsuit against Showtime, claiming he was screwed out of $340 million in unpaid earnings generated during his heyday.
In the lawsuit, filed by Floyd in California, and obtained by TMZ Sports … Mayweather says he’s gunning to “recover hundreds of millions of dollars in the misappropriated funds and damages resulting from a long-running and elaborate scheme of financial fraud,” allegedly perpetrated by his longtime advisor Al Haymon … and now he’s claiming Haymon got “substantial participation and aid” from Showtime and former Showtime Sports president, Stephen Espinoza.
Floyd claims Haymon, with whom he worked for over a decade, misappropriated a “significant portion of his career earnings” to the tune of a whopping $340 million … and he says he did so with the help of Showtime and SE. Mayweather says the money is still “‘missing’ and unaccounted for.
“Floyd is one of boxing’s biggest pay-per-view draws. He generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue for Showtime,” Bobby Samini, Mayweather’s attorney, told TMZ Sports. “Mr. Mayweather now takes this fight to the courtroom to recover what he rightfully earned.”
“Retiring undefeated at 50-0, Mr. Mayweather will go the distance in the courtroom just as he has in the ring.”
Mayweather’s longtime nemesis, 50 Cent, chimed in on Mayweather’s lawsuit on social media.
“Oh no don’t cry now champ they beat you out of $320 million, you dumb a– 🥷🏾. I told you let me read the contracts now lace up, You gotta look good fighting Mike. then maybe we can get Bud to beat your a– for some big money.’
50’s beef with Mayweather stems from a falling-out the two had back in 2012, when 50 claims Mayweather backed out of a co-promotional deal.
It is also worth noting that Showtime was recently purchased by David Ellison’s Skydance as part of the massive Paramount deal last year.
It was recently announced that Mayweather would fight against K1 kickboxer Mike Zambidis in Athens, Greece later this year.
