Just because Aaron Rodgers is no longer a member of the Green Bay Packers does not mean he still doesn’t enjoy throwing shades at the Chicago Bears.

Aaron Rodgers, who once famously told the Chicago crowd that he “owns” them, paid the team a back-handed compliment during a recent interview, saying that the team is “almost” good enough to beat the Packers.

The Packers finished 2nd in the NFC North last season with a record of 9-8, while the Bears finished 4th with a 7-10 record. Despite the 7-10 record, the Bear had the #1 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft due to a trade they made with the Carolina Panthers the year before.

“Yeah, I do [think Caleb Williams has what it takes to become a successful NFL QB],” Rodgers told the Pardon My Take podcast.

“I like [D’Andre] Swift, I like [Keenan] Allen, I like the receiver from Washington [Rome Odunze],” Rodgers said. And of course, you’ve still got DJ [Moore]. I think that team is almost good enough to beat the Packers… Almost good enough.”

Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears will have to wait quite a bit to prove they’ve got what it takes to match up with the Green Bay Packers as the two teams don’t face off until November 17. Unfortunately for the Bears, however, Rodgers’ Jets aren’t on their schedule this year.

Rodgers — who made headlines last month by opting to skip the Jets’ mandatory minicamp — reported for the team’s official training camp on Tuesday, July 23, and was spotted wearing a t-shirt with an Egyptian cat on it. Rodgers, of course, missed minicamp to take a trip to Egypt.

The 40-year-old future Hall of Fame quarterback will be looking to complete his first full game as a member of Gang Green when the Jets take on the San Francisco 49ers on Monday, September 9.
