Seattle Seahawks defensive lineman Leonard Williams gave a blunt assessment of New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers following their win over Gang Green at MetLife Stadium in Week 13. According to Williams, Rodgers is “chucking and ducking” a lot because he’s an “older guy” avoiding hits.
While speaking to the media after the Seahawks’ victory, Leonard Williams made the damning comments about Aaron Rodgers, who has looked a shell of his former four-time MVP self this season.
Through the first 12 games of the Jets’ season, Rodgers has completed 62.5% of his passes for 2,627 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions. The 41-year-old’s issues go beyond his stats, however, as he no longer has mobility in the pocket or the ability to consistently hit receivers down field.
There was one particular instance against the Seahawks in which he missed a wide-open Garrett Wilson in the end zone, which is what Williams was detailing when he shared his analysis of Rodgers’ current state.
“I remember pass rushing and somebody almost got Rodgers and that’s why he threw it too far for the receiver or whatever happened. I think he’s an older guy that doesn’t want to take big hits like that anymore so sometimes if he feels a guy coming full speed at him he’s just going to chuck it and duck,” Williams, who was drafted by the Jets with the sixth overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, told the media after the Seahawks 26-21 win.
The ultimate insult…#Seahawks DL Leonard Williams had a different explanation for why #Jets QB Aaron Rodgers missed WR Garrett Wilson for a wide open touchdown:

Williams certainly had the walk to back up his talk, as he picked off Rodgers for a 92-yard-touchdown to cut the Jets’ lead to 7 in the second quarter (had Rodgers not thrown the pick six, the Jets were already in field goal range at the 10-yard-line). The one-time Pro Bowler also had four tackles and two sacks in the game.
With the win over the Jets, the NFC West-leading Seahawks improved to 7-5, while the Jets fell to 3-9. The Seahawks will close out their 2024 season with matchups against the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears, and Los Angeles Rams, while the Jets take on the Miami Dolphins (twice), Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, and Buffalo Bills.
