Despite the fact that Aaron Rodgers was just one of two players not to attend New York Jets minicamp — the other being recently traded for defensive end Haason Reddick, who is holding out for a new contract — the 40-year-old quarterback appears to believe that Robert Saleh is somehow at fault.

According to a report from The Athletic, after returning from his trip to Egypt, Aaron Rodgers went to Robert Saleh to “question why he would call it unexcused.”

Dianna Russini, who reported the story, said that Rodgers and Saleh “ironed things out and everything’s great now.”

Given that offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett remains on the staff despite the organization not believing he’s up to the task, it’s clear that Rodgers is running the show in New York and not Saleh, which has been the case since the day they traded for him.

During the offseason, for example, the Jets tried to hire someone who would “undermine” Hackett and even spoke with new Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator and former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith about joining the staff and “being part of the playcalling process,” Russini reported.

Over the weekend, Rodgers was at a celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe and shared some details about his trip to Egypt and the rehab of his Achilles.

“Had a beautiful trip to Egypt. This is like the last marker. Summer’s over on Sunday. Walking up on 18 (18th hole at American Century Championship) is super bittersweet, but it’s fun to be out,” Rodgers said.

“My Achilles feels good, you know, I felt really good at the end of last year. Then you know, there’s always that kind of plateau part. It’s just about getting back into it. I felt good.”

Rodgers and the Jets will begin their 2024 training camp on Wednesday, July 24.
