New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers claims that he “does not give a [expletive] what people think about him.” The soon-to-be 41-year-old veteran signal-caller made the comment while on The Pat McAfee Show, the nationally televised radio/TV show he goes on for about 45 minutes every week to extensively detail his latest thoughts and feelings.

During his pre-Thanksgiving appearance on The Pat McAfee Show — he has been appearing on the nationally-televised ESPN show since 2023 — Aaron Rodgers responded to recent reports about the turmoil within the Jets organization, particularly those written by The Athletic reporter Dianna Russini. Rodgers, of course, denied the validity of Russini’s reporting, saying he does not speak to her.

In recent weeks, following the firing of general manager of Joe Douglas and reports of discontent between Rodgers and Jets owner Woody Johnson, there has been speculation that the Jets are considering either benching or cutting the four-time NFL MVP.

While addressing questions about the reporting on him and the disastrous 2024 New York Jets, Rodgers told McAfee and his co-hosts that he “does not give a s— what people think about him.”

So far this season, the Jets sit at 3-8 after 11 games and have fired both their general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh. Through those 11 games, Rodgers has completed 63.4% of his passes for 2,442 yards, 17 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.

The stats behind Rodgers season don’t tell the full story, however, as many NFL analysts and fans have noted that Rodgers can no longer move around/escape the pocket and has either lost the ability or is refusing to throw the ball downfield. There are also reports indicating he has refused medical scans while he battles through an injury, rumored to be his hamstring.

Following their Week 12 bye week, Rodgers and the Jets will resume their 2024 season — which will see the franchise extend its playoff drought to 14 seasons — with a December 1 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
