Just when we thought the discussion about Davante Adams possibly getting traded to the New York Jets were about to die down, Aaron Rodgers goes and throws more fuel on the fire.

There has been speculation about Adams reuniting with Rodgers ever since they both left the Green Bay Packers.

That speculation turned into a full-blown conspiracy after Aaron Rodgers told a reporter that he can’t wait to play with Davante Adams again while he was participating in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship.

However, two weeks ago, Davante Adams finally addressed the growing rumors that he wants out of Las Vegas so he can be reunited with his old Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers.

“I’m not the type of person that I enjoy going and and putting that type of stuff out there when I’m actively on the Raiders,” Adams told Shannon Sharpe on his podcast Club Shay Shay. “What do I look like sitting here talking to other people about being on another team, and that’s how I still feel about it right now, like, I’m locked in with with the Raiders and and I really feel good about this team and as far as I know they feel good about me.”

End of story, right? Everyone can move on now.

Wait…

Wednesday afternoon at Jets training camp, Aaron Rodgers was once again asked by a reporter to clarify the comment he made in Lake Tahoe about playing with Davante Adams again.

“I do love Davante, for sure,” Rodgers replied. “That particular guy was a tad bit irritating, I would say. It was one of those things where it’s like, just like somebody is just asking the same question over and over and over and I was trying to just give him something and get rid of him. Yeah. I think I was talking about golf. Yeah.”

Way to clear things up and finally end all of the speculation, Rodgers.
