Cincinnati Bengals Pro Bowl quarterback Joe Burrow became the latest high-profile athlete to have their home burglarized. However, in Burrow’s case, it’s the circumstances that followed the robbery that seem to be garnering the most attention.
Joe Burrow’s home in Anderson Township, Ohio, was robbed on Monday, December 9 while the team was in Dallas for a Monday Night Football matchup against the Cowboys.
According to reports, Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Olivia Ponton is the one who allegedly alerted police from Burrow’s home following the break-in, which is an aspect of the story that Aaron Rodgers mentioned while speaking to Pat McAfee earlier this week.
“Well, it’s an interesting situation that happened in Cincinnati, mostly around the call,” Rodgers said on his weekly The Pat McAfee Show appearance.

Burrow is believed to be in a long term with girlfriend Olivia Holzmacher, which is a facet of the story that was already raising questions before Rodgers brought further attention to it.
“Someone is trying to break into the house right now. My daughter is there. This is Joe Burrow’s house. She is staying there. He’s at the football game. She’s wondering what she should do, if she should be hiding, or if she should go outside. She said someone was in the house,” Ponton’s mother said in the call to 911.
Burrow and Holzmacher met when he was playing at Ohio State University (prior to transferring to LSU), began dating in 2017 and by all accounts have been together ever since.
Burrow — who is currently playing at perhaps a career-best level — has completed 68.4% of his passes for 3,706 yards, 33 touchdowns and 6 interceptions so far this season. The Bengals have struggled overall this year, however, as they currently sit third in the AFC North with a 5-8 record and will likely miss out on the playoffs this season.
