The New York Jets are an abject disaster. That much is inarguable. New York is 4-11. It has an aging quarterback who stinks but is making a ton of money. It has no head coach. No general manager, and a team owner who is using NFL Madden ratings to determine trade value.
Now, to make matters worse, the aforementioned overpaid quarterback is making fun of the team’s nightmare scenario on national television.
Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers addressed rumors that team owner Woody Johnson has his teenage sons making personnel decisions during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday. Rodgers also addressed claims that he could be released following the 2024 season.

“I’ve never been released before. So, being released would be a first; being released by a teenager, that would also be a first,” Rodgers said with a laugh (18:00 mark of the video above).
“So, hey, I’m open to everything and I find the comedy in all of it. If that happens, hey, it’s a great story.”
Rodgers’ comments comes after a New York Times report that claimed that Johnson’s sons Brick and Jack plenty of say within the New York the locker room.
Citing a specific example, the story addressed the scene in the locker room after New York’s win over the Houston Texans on Halloween.
“Rodgers walked into an energized locker room with a game ball in hand, and it was expected that he’d give the ball to Ulbrich, a customary gesture when a coach gets his first NFL win,” the report said. “But before Rodgers could speak, Brick Johnson took another game ball and awarded it to wide receiver Garrett Wilson in a profanity-laced exclamation, which the owner’s son later posted to Instagram.”
Its a good thing Rodgers sees the humor in it all. Because Jets fans sure don’t.
