A former divisional rival of Aaron Rodgers ripped the NFL’s decision to put the 40-year-old quarterback in the league’s annual list of the Top 100 players (Rodgers was ranked #92).

While Aaron Rodgers is undoubtedly a future Hall of Famer, Chicago Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson believes the fact that Rodgers missed the entirety of last season with an Achilles injury should disqualify him from making the NFL’s 100 list.

Johnson, who made his first Pro Bowl and was named to the All-Pro second team last season, has been with the Bears since 2020, meaning he was in Chicago when Rodgers strung together back-to-back MVP seasons.

“It’s bull—-. There ain’t no way. I don’t know how you make Pro Bowl, All-Pro and not a top 100 guy? I could have been 101, I guess. Aaron Rodgers didn’t even play this season and he was voted,” Johnson told the media at Bears training camp this week, clearly frustrated with his omission from the list.

“Everybody makes mistakes, it ain’t just the media that do it. The players, clearly, if they voted for it, they made some god—- mistakes but it is what it is. Any day I know the truth and it’s ok. I got some more for them.”

2023 was the best season of Johnson’s career as he played in 14 games and had four interceptions, 36 total tackles, a forced fumble, and a touchdown.

As for Rodgers, he’ll be sitting out the Jets’ upcoming preseason games as he continues to recover from the Achilles injury he suffered on September 11, 2023 — just four snaps into his Gang Green career.

Following the injury, Rodgers then spent the subsequent months appearing on The Pat McAfee Show fueling speculation that he was going to attempt a miraculous in-season comeback, only to eventually admit that he was full of, as Johnson so eloquently said about the NFL’s Top 100 list, bull—-.

The NFL’s Top 100 list clearly isn’t meant to be taken all that seriously, though, as they ranked Christian McCaffrey, Lamar Jackson, and Tyreek Hill above Patrick Mahomes.
