The New York Jets 2024 season, which began with lofty Super Bowl expectations, essentially came to an end on Sunday in New England following the team’s 25-22 loss to the Patriots, dropping their record to 2-6.

While the Jets have a myriad of issues on all three sides of the ball, their future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers hasn’t done enough to help overcome those flaws, especially considering there have been games this season where he’s had the ball with the chance to either tie the game or take the lead and failed to deliver.

Speaking to the media after the Patriots 25-22 over the Jets, Pats’ defensive lineman Davon Godchaux gave a blunt assessment of the 2024 version of Rodgers, stating that he’s clearly not “the same” and that he hates to see him “go out” like this.

“Hall of Fame quarterback. Hate to see him go out that way,” Patriots defensive lineman Davon Godchaux said after the game, which saw the Patriots get their second win of the season. “He definitely don’t look the same. He kept moving back there … s— I could run him down and catch him. He don’t look mobile at all. That’s good for us.”

Through eight games as the New York Jets quarterback, Rodgers has completed 61.6% of his passes for 1,896 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. Against the Pats, he completed 17 of 28 passes for 233 yards and two touchdowns.

Rodgers’ time with the Jets has been such a failure thus far that following the loss to the Patriots, who had previously lost six straight games, ESPN analyst and former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky called Gang Green’s acquisition of the four-time NFL MVP “one of the worst in the history of the NFL.

The Jets, who have looked worse since firing head coach Robert Saleh after Week 5, don’t have long to lick their wounds as they’ll be hosting CJ Stroud and the 6-2 Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football on Halloween night.
