Aaron Rodgers has reportedly tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss Sunday’s matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. The news was first reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Sources: #Packers QB Aaron Rodgers tested positive for COVID-19 and is out for Sunday’s game against the #Chiefs.

Shortly after Pelissero shared the news, his colleague, Ian Rapoport, reported that Rodgers is unvaccinated. This means that even if he tests negative ahead of Sunday’s game he will still be forced to watch the game from home.
#Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is unvaccinated, per me and @MikeGarafolo. That’s why he’s out for Sunday vs. the #Chiefs.

If Rodgers had received the jab, he would’ve been able to play on Sunday if he recorded two negative tests over a 48-hour period leading up to the contest. However, with the NFL’s policy concerning unvaccinated players, he’ll be forced to isolate for a minimum of 10 days before he’s permitted to return.
The report of Rodgers being unvaccinated is certainly interesting given what he said about the vaccine during the offseason.
“Yeah, I’ve been immunized,” Rodgers said. “There’s guys on the team that haven’t been vaccinated. I think it’s a personal decision, I’m not gonna judge those guys.”
Rodgers said “a lot of research” went into his decision to get vaccinated.
Sunday’s game was going to be a big-time showdown between Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes and Rodgers. Now, it appears that Jordan Love will step into Rodgers’ role and try to take down the Chiefs in what will be his first career NFL start.
The news of Rodgers testing positive comes just a week after Green Bay wide receiver Davante Adams missed last week’s game against the Arizona Cardinals after testing postive.
Here’s a look at how some NFL fans reacted to the Rodgers news:

My friend, who is a bears fan said, “He should have had his mask on when he was telling the Bears he owns them.” 😂 https://t.co/3loudMF4fJ
