Former Jets QB Says There Are ‘Major’ Problems Between Aaron Rodgers And Robert Saleh

After just one month of the 2024 season, the New York Jets are already teetering on the brink on implosion.

Entering October with a record of 2-2, the Jets have looked like an underwhelming, disorganized unit for virtually the entirety of the season, particularly on offense.

The Jets’ offensive inefficiency has been such a problem that Sunday’s 10-9 loss to the Denver Broncos at MetLife was the first time in Aaron Rodgers’ career that he failed to score a touchdown while playing in an entire home game.

After the game, Rodgers and head coach Robert Saleh also showed signs of dissension as the duo disagreed with dealing with the pre-snap penalties that the offensive line has been committing.

Former New York Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason certainly sees some issues brewing, as he believes there is a “major” disconnect between the Jets’ head coach and starting QB.

“I try to watch to see if I see any interactions on the sideline or anything — nothing. Nothing. I see a guy walking right past that other guy. I can’t imagine that. Now, I remember those days, because I had those days, with two coaches in particular, and it was because I didn’t trust the guy,” Esiason said on his WFAN radio show.

“I didn’t like the guy. I didn’t know what he was doing and it pissed me off. If you read my body language back in those days, with those teams that I was on, you could tell that I was pissed off. And when I see Aaron Rodgers on the sideline and I see him after the game in the postgame press conference. Yesterday’s postgame press conference — there is a major issue there,” he continued.

“Both will deny it. I guarantee it. But there is an issue there. It’s because you have this 40-year-old Hall of Fame quarterback to-be, dealing with a coach that I think he doesn’t respect.”

The Jets now face a trip to London in Week 5, where they’ll take on the 4-0 Minnesota Vikings, one of the best teams in the National Football League. After that, the Jets will host Josh Allen and the Bills, another of the NFL’s elite teams, on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
