College GameDay will be in Berkely for the first time ever this weekend as it heads to the West Coast for a matchup between Cal and Miami.
Alum Aaron Rodgers was on the Pat McAfee Show to preview that upcoming trip, and as things often do with the quarterback on hand, the conversation took a bizarre turn.
Rodgers did his best to fill McAfee in on the best stops in the area. A few recommendations included a “staple” hot dog joint, and a popular burrito establishment frequented often by the quarterback during his playing days.
Then, things went off the rails.
“Take a walk around that little marina, there, where there was an infamous case,” Rodgers insisted. “Scott Peterson allegedly dumped the body of his pregnant wife there in the Berkely marina.”

The official College GameDay social media accounts opted to share parts of that Cal preview with its own followers. It conveniently left off the Peterson reference, clipping the final two minutes of Rodgers’ rambling.

It’s far from the first time Rodgers has made waves with his off-field commentary, and it likely won’t be the last.
As for College GameDay goes, this week’s trip to Berkely will be historic.
With Cal soon to be checked off the list, only five college football campuses remain unvisited by the popular pregame show. Those include Rutgers, Illinois, Maryland, Syracuse, and Virginia.
Bears fans will have to wake up early in order to get their spots on set. The show, which airs from 9AM to noon on the East Coast, will see a 6AM local time start.
Making the day all the longer for those Cal fans, their matchup with Miami isn’t set to kick off until 10:30 PM ET (7:30PM PT).
That lengthy break might give attendees an opportunity to visit some of those nearby establishments in their down time, Pat McAfee included. We’ll see if the Scott Peterson location makes his list.
